Subject: I Love Halo 2!! Why cant I play online anymore?

I love halo 2 and all maps,Gun glitches and everything about it. I feel like halo 2 was the only non-laggy halo. Every other halo bungie has produced is laggy and doesn't run as smoothly as halo 2. Such as grenades not bouncy off the ground, lag when you throw a grenade, headshots not killing someone after shooting them more then 4 or 5 times in the head. Please bungie let us play halo 2 online!

Please comment your thoughts or ideas..
Thank you!

Facepalm.

Bungie cannot control if we can play Halo 2 online. Microsoft has disabled all Xbox LIVE functionality for any original Xbox title - Halo 2 being one of said titles.

That being said, did you say Halo 2 was the only non-laggy Halo?!?!?! Halo 2 was the worst for lagging-out (in my opinion) and if not that, then the absolute worst for cheaters and modders.

It was full of modders and was sometimes impossible to play a legitimate game. I mean, it was the groundbreaking online multiplayer game and the best one ever, but it had huge amounts of modders/cheaters, and the online community has only improved ever since, thanks to Bungie's amazing system and banhammer!

because microsoft is soulless -blam!-s, simple as that.

"I'll tell you right now, if you ever see someone called ll wa1do ll... leave the game immediately. My friend knows him, I've been in his party a few times, do not mess with this guy. From what I've heard, he's the real deal. I also heard someone made a guy named Wa2do (similar to his name) and then he hacked that guy and boosted off his level." -From Minou on Bungie.net

Wow this must the first time I've read a thread about someone wanting Halo 2 back!

/saracasm

Seriously is it that hard to read?

I think I'm sensing hosility :O

and maybe Bungie should just make a separate forums for complaints, requests, and all that good stuff we are spammed with constantly throughout these forums... You know, a place where this post would go.

That is exactly what I mean. Just shove the problem into a forum called "Suggestion Box" Bungie will NEVER read it, people will never comment in it, and moderators won't ever have to moderate it. It'll just be a barrier for the people who all they want to do is complain and make suggestions to go and leave us alone.

Of course, this would never happen, and I'm being as bad as them by making a suggestion towards Bungie in saying what they should do. -_-'

We all need to approach this problem in a patient way, but relive if we don't continue pressure from forums and other communication that Halo2 will not come back for XBL for a very long time or never.

Therefore we should continue threads like this until there is a break through. Which might not occur but we still should try.

Making threads here does nothing. MS never goes here, Bungie never goes to this part of the forums, and they don't take sugestions from forum kids. If there was a far bigger backlash instead of a one man campagin, then maybe. But then again, all those one man campagins always use huge backlashes as motavations for their lost cause.

What is this recurring topic doing to you that is so offensive? If you don't like a thread you don't have to read it or post in it you big bowl of dicks.

ya they can noob all they have to do is make another Halo 2 for the Xbox 360.

They should cuse every other halo is getting -blam!-lo and Halo 2 was the only halo u could play for years and still enjoy.

  • 12.18.2010 3:12 PM PDT

Contrary to popular belief, I am not actually a fat lady.

Yeah, but have you ever heard of someone re-releasing the exact same game on a more or less similar comsole six years after the original release?

Halo 2 for Life!

Microsoft is interested in manipulating behavior to gear it to buying new things. This means killing old games online and forcing the consumer to buy new things to be able to play online.

They should instead foster loyalty and creating good products. If their products were really a big enough leap in quality than loyal fans would buy, that takes time to develop (games of quality).

If halo2 was online today, loyalty and their brand would be stronger, people would encourage each other to buy, instead they shut down what was once available and the door to success by means of loyalty more and more.

To me it had the opposite effect on sales. Loyalty is king and that is why Microsoft is not king.

Windows XP is still in use a lot today, and MS supported 2k until 2k10.

They do have loyaltly, most people use Windows, even all the people who "hate" MS use it. Even if it's pirated, their still using windows. Why? Because it's easier to set up then linux and more stable then OS X.

Halo 2 was shut down due to decling population, and the declining population of Original Live. I remember staring at empty lobbies for non-h2 games. And all the people who jumped in at the end were just trying to play one last time when more people were on.

Do your research before you make another post. MS is #1 in desktop OSes, #2 in web servers, and they sell a lot of office suites and programming IDEs too.

EDIT: Tottalymassive, I thought you were supposed to be boycotting BNET like it said in your sig....oh wait, no one ever boycotts.

Isn't this what Valve already is?
I like how they support Half Life games, and recently ported them and others to Mac.

Microsoft doesn't know what support a product forever means, they use a retarded lifecycle policy of their own.

They didn't port this to mac. Or this.

No company supports anything forever, no matter what you might think. Apple quickly ditches their old OSes and hardware, for example. Just look at PPC macs today.
