I am a HUGE bungie fan. I think anyone who's read my posts knows that.
I've been spending some of my time hunting down modders, their websites, their clan's, and their clan sites along with every gamer tag I can find on their sites.

I leave feed back on people, and I've harrassed the XBL people about what they're doing about the cheating, and screaming and what not. I've been given information on what's going on to fix some of the stuff and I REALLY appreciate it.

I have not been able to contact anyone at bungie directly. I'm assuming that they are swamped with calls from people angry about the cheating as well as cheaters who are angry about being banned. I would like to make a couple of serious suggestions to bungie on some ideas I have to improve play dramatically.

I'm not some teenager who has some misconceptions about the difficulties of implimenting mass changes to applications or networks. I'm not interested in putting this information in places that no one of consequence will read it, and thereby rendering the idea useless.

I would like to make two suggestions, and I want some honest feedback from someone from bungie on these two ideas. If that could in anyway be made possible by anyone I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Aside from that I would also like to place an invitation to any moderator or staff member to help me understand what I can do as a regular everyday net surfing bungie loving halo playing hardcore fan (OF Team Hardcore no less) to contribute to solving the problems we're seeing on halo 2's online play. I've already mentioned what I'm doing currently. Is there anything else that can be done?

Thanks guys.

No, he isn't.

And you don't really need to do anything else more. As far as I can see, I don't think it's possible to do much more.

And uh, post ideas here, although im not sure if it belongs on this forum if its halo 2 realted, but it would get noticed.

Or, try submitting it as news on the homepage. Then SOMEONE will read it. Or see it at least, and hopefully have the means to transfer it.

That is all i can come up with to help you. Email works, PM, or post on zanzi or optimatch, depending on where it belongs. ¶

Thanks for the suggestion. I was hoping to get a response from one of the moderators who might have some inside information on who I might be able to take my ideas to.
I'm not asking to be a mod. I'm already mod and admin on several other forums, and that's more than enough drama for me. Besides it's nice to be on alteast ONE forum where I don't have to be COMPLETELY professional in my posts.

;-)

I'll pm frankie. Here's hoping I get a response.

Er, the news submit function is for news. You shouldn't post stuff for news if it isn't relevant news, if you get what i'm saying...

I had assumed that only the admins could post in that forum, and frankly I wouldn't even try to post there. Just seems a bit ... ummm ... off limits?

Anyone can submit news, but only the Bungie Staff or Master Forum Ninjas can make them show up to everyone. If you submitted a news article, someone would need to read it and decide whether or not to accept it. But I agree- That's not a good way to ask your question. You might be able to give it to TinMan, h has replied quickly to me in the past.

I've already sent it to frankie. Unfortunately it turned out to be a bit more lengthy than I had originally intended. It's not HUGELY long or anything but most people who get tons of mail won't read something if it's more than two paragraphs long. Mine was like three or four.

eh we'll see.

O, er, I didnt mean to say post ideas as news, that kinda came out wrong, I guess I missed a sentace.. I meant to say if you have an announcement or if there is something you want brought to thier attention then post as news. Ideas would be better as PM's.

I wouldn't be as arrogant to say that we have a greater or equal hand in things than Bungie, because it simply is not true. That being known, I wouldn't mind if you posted your ideas in a way that the members of this forum can comment on them. You don't have to create a new thread for it, simply post the ideas in this thread.

It's not necessary, but it could help to clarify what you're talking about.

Aside from that I would also like to place an invitation to any moderator or staff member to help me understand what I can do as a regular everyday net surfing bungie loving halo playing hardcore fan (OF Team Hardcore no less) to contribute to solving the problems we're seeing on halo 2's online play. Yes, there is. For a start, you can contribute your ideas preferably through this forum- and by all means, offer suggestions and advice to existing ideas. We may not be the ones making the decisions of what this site will become, but we can offer our advise and see if we can help in that way.

Indeed. We may not be able to help you, but we can try to perfect any ideas you have untill someone who can help sees them.

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

I think it's great that another involved member of the Bungie world domini-... ermm I mean fan community is working so hard to do his part.

Heck your probably doing even more than I do......

I <3 your dedication.

I really appreciate that. It's the principle of the matter. I hate cheaters in any situation. Where I work I'm known for nailing people for scamming on their workload to make themselves look like they're producing more than they are.

people who cheat make those of us who don't look less skilled than we are and that just pisses me off.

I actually sent them to Frankie and he responded but I'm going to go ahead and post them here. If there's an interest then maybe bungie can and will actually put atleast one of the two into play.

The more input this gets the better. I'm not trying to hoard these or anything. I've just seen so many ideas (ranging from good to crap) posted on bungie and I've rarely seen any of them get any real attention from anyone that matters. Infact they usually get responses like:

However that is awsome but you need not to worry about modding!

which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. People who post stuff like that either play almost entirely custom games, or they force host so those of us who don't get stuck with the modders.

The two basic ideas I had were simple:

1) This one is the most important and most valuable I believe: bungie should employ the assistance of non payed players whom they can trust to play regularly to turn in modders. When one of these players finds a modder they not ONLY note their gamer tag but who they are playing with and if they've played more than one game with them. They then hit their clan if they have one and pull every gamer tag in that clan and submit every found gamertag in that clan as well as all of the tags that were found to have been playing with this modder consistently. This is kind of like how they moderate the forums. The moderators have more direct access to those who can ban people and their requests take precidence over all other requests simply because bungie KNOWS that their requests are valid and will have all needed proof attatched.

Not only would you nail the cheaters but you would also nail those who boost off of them. I've kind of already been doing this myself. I've turned in DOZENS of gamertags, and I'll probably have dozens more by the end of this week. I get modded ATLEAST once a night. It's gotten down right rediculous.

2) This one is simple, and after all of the ten tons of complaints really only makes sense: Team mute. One button that mutes the entire oposing team with one touch and unmutes them with another. This would resduce the amount of stress placed on the ENTIRE gamer community. It would cut all complaints and non legit "cheater" turn ins tremendously, and would improve gamer retension, and broaden the gamer base by giving families a bit more reason to let their kids play online knowing that they can turn off the constant stream of profanity their kids have to put up with.

Those are my suggestions. Frankie responded with some stuff about how they're considering the team mute and how it's not their codes fault. I appreciated the response. I KNOW it's not their codes fault. I mean some stuff MIGHT be able to be done about the mods but if the mods couldn't force host in the first place this wouldn't be happening and that's ALL XBL. Anyway, so I did get a response, and I'm way appreciative of that.

input?
