I watched the decisive battles thing on the history channel, and it was about the Spartans of Ancient Greece. It was sweet seeing the Spartans (300) take on 500,000 enemy troops. They killed about 10,000 I think (pretty good, seeing that they only had 300) They had really cool looking shields and stuff. They were doin' real good in the battle, until someone ratted 'em out and the enemy found a way to flank the Spartans. They still couldn't kill the Spartans! Then, in the show, it said how the Spartans hated Long range attackers (bow and arrow) because they thought of them as cowards who couldn't fight face to face. The Spartans were finally taken down by the enemy infantry running away, and having archers shoot at them untill all of the Spartans died. It was sweet! Post comments here. I thought that show was cool. It actually showed the battle through cg!

I'm interested in Battles of the past. I think it's neat! You couldn't just call for a nuclear strike back then! lol

i wouldn't have known about it except for the fact that i was watching the UFO shows that were on the History Channel this morning

I love the History channel, accept when they subliminally promote the military and christianity. I also like the Science channel, lot's of cool shows about Quantum Mechanics and Black holes.

The game engine they used is actually a game called Rome: Total War. It's coming out this September so start saving up! ;-)

Does anyone else watch Mail call on the History channel? It's probably my favorite show on there.
There was this one episode where R. lee Ermey was acting out the spartan battles with action figures and said something like "In your face Socrates!"

any of you guys see Decisive battles: (with the Spartans in it though?) I thought it was sweet, until they died of arrows coming at them for hours at the end...

ya when i first saw a commercial for dat show i was life , "wtf thats that game!!" but the graphics and frame rate are so bad...

The simple fact that you can have 10,000 units at one time makes me easily forget those disadvantages. Plus, it's a RTS, you aren't going to be looking right up next to the units when you're fighting. You have a god's eye veiw where you look at the big picture (and don't even see the bad framerate, and the graphics are not bad for an RTS).

I loved the game Shogun: Total war

It was the original one, only it took place in Japan.
