I have noticed that most of the older members are part of a chapter, and im guessing that, that is because they have been around longer and found why they are usefull unlike the newer members.

I'v looked at the seventh collum and read some of the chapter things, but I dont see why so many people are a part of one. Isnt it just like a clan thing where you dont do anything but talk? I dont see the big appeal or how they are useful. can someone please explain to me?

That's just it. Another place to talk. Except with more of a built-in theme, minus the spam.

You can get loads of subtle tools to use, easy to use, hard to find out but those with experience can make great chapters. You get a lot of scope with them.

You don't get in a chapter just by being here for a while, you can go find a chapter that you like and if it's an open chapter you can join, if it's a reserved chapter you can go on a que to join, and if they like you they'll let you in.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

hmm... I'm beginning to think people are getting misinformed. As stalking Puma said, it's not an old member thing. Anyone could do it. Chapter's aren't just another place to talk, although many have turned into that. Some are XBL clans, some were made for LAN gatherings, to find anyone in their area who plays Halo, but as the release of Halo 2 comes closer, less LAN's are hosted and more Halo 2 clans are made, and just overall XBL chapters.

Chapters have news, where members can post any interesting news that they find and think others would like to know. Could be Halo 2 news, could be a funny story... whatever.

The chapters have a forum and the forum is basically another place to talk but chapter forums aren't as cluttered and little to no spam because a founder/group of staff can take care of one forum very easily.

The chapters have databases. There are custom databases and just the regular ones. You can put your contact info, review games, movies, books, fan fic, search for past poll results, look for tips, what games other people are looking forward to... whatever. Depends on what databases a chapter has.

The polls are just that... polls. Chapters can have a poll (Opened up to the public or members only) in the bottom left of the page.

The events. Chapters can have LAN events, XBC events, XBL events... an event could be Halo 2's release date, someone's birthday, a Halo PC event, a time everyone in the chapter will be on to do something. The events are fun because you interact with everyone else. I've played XBL with members of my chapter and it's fun to talk to them/totally own them in whatever game.

Also some chapters (notably MSXL) have members only content. It could be a link to a video a founder made, fan fic, whatever.

So chapters are FAR from just a place to talk. You should go check out a couple active chapters. A lot of chapters are inactive or not updated but those that are updated and have an active founder/staff are a lot of fun.

Most people think clans=chapters. That is misinformation.
