So this may have been asked before, but what exactly is the need of the "group" section in the history log?

Ok, so now in English:

For example: -- Fri, 21 Oct 2005 8:25:39 AM PDT, Event ID 12: User Gods Prophet has altered the general settings of group 86311.

Now notice the underlined section. So what exactly is the need of this as, correct me if i'm wrong, but surely the only group's security settings you are changing in that chapter is ...well, that chapter.

Only the paranoid will survive!

It was probably easier to add it then to leave it out. Who knows?

Maybe there is a centralized security history that only Achronos can see. Say a group gets conquered by a user and makes it so nobody else can check the security history, a group founder might be able to contact Achronos and he can look up in the central security history to determine who did it, remove him from power and give the founder back his group.

Of course, that is just speculation; but besides having it for a central security history I wouldn't see the need.

Ok, so let's assume there is a central security history storage bank. Surely it would be organised in such a way that the user merely has to say the name of the chapter and Achronos or whoever can look up the group ID from the name and then see relevant group security relating to that ID. (the chapter title to ID would be an automated process of course).
And let's say they can't look up an ID from the chapter name, surely it would be easier just to have one central place where the ID can be found and is viewable to all. Infact not even that is needed as it's all in the url.

So i don't know, perhaps if Achronos passes he might enlighten us.

Or maybe it's a secret code that downloads a virus into your harddrive that lets Bungie see everything you do! Or maybe, it's just what Dmbfan says.

Does Achronos do anything about group conquers? I thaught he didn't help out.

If someone conquers a group, I feel it's the Admin's fault. Founders should never give anyone else full power, unless they really trust them.

I don't believe he does anything besides deleting the group if the founder asks, but that might have been because he never had a way to figure out what happened. I don't know if he would do anything and I don't want to put anything into Achronos' mouth... Did that last part read as strange as I think it did?

lol. Let's not go there.

Well this raises an interesting question, but you have to remember this is all based upon the idea that there might be a central history storage bank.
