And this all takes place during Halo 3, up until the end of the 4th mission

Heroes never die.

on coastal highway you see the scarab that heads over to masterchief in halo 2.

Halo ODST is placed in the same city that you play in halo2. I saw a youtube vid that showed Master cheif's ship that goes into slip space with the covatant ship while rookie is in the drop pod. heres the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uamjtkytjhg

*SPOILER*

But at the end of Halo ODST, the covenant begin to dig a huge whole with a covenant ship in the earth's surface, and i'm pretty sure that that is the whol which causes the Portal to The Ark appear. New Mombasa is only about 50km away from Voi (the city you go to in Halo 3)

The best event in the Halo series was the grunt rebellion!

Listen to some of this on, this site.

Which Scarab and where. Inside the city or one that comes from the water, is the scarab chief kills? Which one?

In ODST I don't remember seeing the covatant dig a hole. How do you know that Voi is 50km away from New Mombasa?

I think that it would more likely be in the same city that you play in halo 2 because you can actually see master cheif's ship go with the covatant ship through slip space.

If that was true it would be "Halo ODST" but it isn't it's "halo 3 ODST" It takes place during Halo 3.

I know its about 50km away because in Tsavo Highway (mission 3 in Halo 3) I saw a sign post on the highway that said Voi: 50km, New Mombasa: 102km or something like that. It is roughly those numbers give, or take 30km to New Mombasa.

But actually you do have a point about it being in Halo 2. I am pretty sure it is in Halo 3, but i might play a bit of 2 again to double-check.

I dont know if this is absolutly certain, but i think they called it halo 3 ODST because it uses the same stuff as what they used to make halo 3.
And if it is placed in halo 3 then why did bungie put master cheifs ship from halo two next to the covatant ship?

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Wow, the majority of people here know nothing about the story. I'd like to point out that ODST is set during the events of Halo 2, not Halo 3. It picks up from the ending of the mission 'Metropolis'.

Buck was under the impression that they'd be infiltrating Regret's Carrier as it hung over New Mombasa, but Dare was actually on a classified ONI mission to divert their pods away from the Carrier and retrieve Doctor Endesha's (from Sadie's Story) data on the seismic activity under the Earth from the Superintendent's core.

Regret jumped into slipspace to go to Installation 05, the pods were thrown off-course and a portion of Truth's fleet arrives to begin the Great Schism against survivng Elites and attack the humans.

The seismic activity was actually the Portal Artefact leading to the Ark, the Covenant Loyalists come along at the end of the game and begin glassing that area to uncover it.

Ok i believe you on this.
Is it just after the Great Schism that the Elites join the Humans and leave the Covenant?
And is Installation 05 the Delta Halo?

Sorry my memory of the Halo 2 story line is a bit rusty.

The Great Schism officially begins during the Changing of the Guard, when the Brutes replace the Elites as the Honour Guards of the Prophets. However, Regret sent Earth's coordinates to Truth before he left and a portion of Truth's fleet arrive (comprised of Brutes). They hunt down the Elites that remained on the planet.

The Great Schism was indeed what brought the humans and Elites together, but it is still an ongoing battle 6 years after Halo 3 ends.

Installation 05 is indeed Delta Halo.
