actually, it probably will. Considering the xbox was made in 2000-2001, the graphics card is now not as good. so ur card should make it look better

With all settings on, it will look the same, just you can turn on higher resolutions

The X800 is one hell of a card, and so is the 9800, but since the port to PC was terribly done for Halo I doubt it will look that much better.

well, if your able to crank the resolution up to 1600x1200, anything LOOKS good. But framrates will suck. Halo was meant for Xbox, there isnt much you can do about it. And of course, Halo 2 is "probably" only coming out for Xbox.... ;)

*slaps darthbob around* Dont listen to him (I think hes a hyper active 12 year old :p). Anyways, a 9800pro will not cut it if you want to game at 1600*1200 on Halo PC is what Iw as getting at. And since anti-aliasing and AF dont work on Halo PC, there isnt much you can do to smooth out the game. Halo looks good on the Xbox because at 640*480 (tv resolution), it was designed for this. As well, I think AF and AA are used on the Xbox (somebody correct me if Im wrong). However, your other sytem specs dont matter.

1. Motherboard
2. Processor
3. RAM
4. Video card

That is all anybody ever needs to gauge performance, unless your a freak with two 74gb raptor hard drives wurring away at 10,000rpm! (JK, wish I had that :(

That's funny, because in the rig that is on its way to my house I have a pair of Raptors as you described. Also, keep in mind that I can run Halo PC at a constant 30 fps with: 1.2Ghz Athlon, GeForce 4 Ti 4600, and 512MB of RAM. If Halo goes slow with a 9800 Pro it's probably due to the horrible programming and net code Gearbox crapped out.

I run Halo well at 1280x960, with an AthlonXP 2500, 1 Gb RAM, and an ATI 9600XT. Looks way better than Xbox mainly because of the resolution, and the bump-mapping added to single player. If anything slows down it's lag's fault.
