I THINK that the Truth and Reconciliation was the only ship that went after the Pillar of Autumn, then it went down around the same time the Pillar of Autumn did. At least, I THINK that's what happenned. Not completely sure.

Am I supposed to write something funny here?

There is a covie fleet, we just don't see it.

So, its like Jaws. Most of the movie you don't see him, but you know he's there.

Space is a pretty big place. Halo has a pretty large surface area. Unless there are thousands of ships and they're frequenting the surface, you shouldn't expect to see lots of them constantly.

Space is a pretty big place. Earth has a pretty large surface area. There weren't many ships with Halo 2 (As for what Cortana said when going through the tunnels in Outskirts) but you see a lot of them. Also, I think that with the way Halo is shaped, you'd see the ships going over other areas on Halo. Covenant ships are BIG.

Only if they were actually overflying the ring, and even then they'd look small; IIRC the ring is about 200km wide, so a CCS-class cruiser would only be about 1% the width of a section it was flying across.

It's true that you'd probably be totally capable of making such objects out if they were floating about the ring, but it would still be sparse enough and the effects of them doing so not visible enough to make it worth showing; at night, for example, you're talking about seeing a few tiny white dots in the sky. Depending on what they're doing they'd just look like stars.

And as for them becoming visible by overflying the ring, it just wouldn't be artistically worth it; the length of a CCS-class vessel is less than 1% the width of a Halo section, and it would require that they be overflying it.

It's really just not worth showing, especially since this fleet probably isn't very big.
