▀▄Halo 2 Strategy complete, Halo 3 Strategy in progress...▄▀
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀MJOLNIR BATTLE TACTICS▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄

The human space ship in halo 1 is called Pillar of Autumn (PoA) (no really).
It marks problably the beginning of the end of the covenant.
And in holland if you say (i dont know how it is in other countrys) someones at the Autumn of his life he is at the end of his life.
So did the bungie folkies choose the name because it marks the end of the covenant.
and also in halo2 in the beginning...

Elite: There was only one ship.
Truth: One? Are you shure?
Elite: Yes they called it the pillar of autumn.
Crowd: (Excited murmering)
Mercy: Why wasnt it destroyed with the rest of their fleet?
Elite: They fled as we set fire to the planet....

The crowd (of councilors) murmered excitely when the name was said... that is on purpose i think the bungie folkies did that on purpose, what do you think?

PS i havent read this before sorry if someone else already wrote this...
PPS i didnt know where to post this...
PPPS i should have put it into an other forum sorry..

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Have you read the books?

In the Flood book the covies where shocked that one ship and its crew could dominate.

Think about it. One ship of humans was responsible for an entire armada being destoryed. In the Books when the Marines and MC rescue Keyes, the surving Eliets where shocked that Humans borderd there ship and killed so many covenant and still made it off alive.

My guess is news would spread of a ship that amazingly awsome.

But your theory makes alot of sense.

yeh the covies think that humans are phethetic the fact that 1 ship took out the whole armada is just crazy to them
I hate the covies

No soldier should be honored for doing what is expected
of him. He is after all, just doing his job.

Ooh? Yeah.

Well, thanks to Keyes, the brilliant Tactician, and Master Chief, a great fighter. A few people think that Keyes is a prick and deserves to die... Because the lack of AI, sadly, but after reading the books, it kinda sucked seeing him like a balloon... Give me a pin.

But Klaw, your theory is cool. It works, I guess.

It is certainly an interesting idea that autumn signaling the coming of winter could be a metaphor for the eventual disintegration of the Covenant empire. It is definitely not a theme I have seen before, which says a lot in the Library.

While it is an inspired idea, I tend to agree with EAGLES5 in that the Covenant were more outraged and suprised by the idea that their mighty armada was destroyed by a single ship of blasphemers.

Although, there is always a reason behind a name in a Bungie game...

I see what your saying, I think all of the covenant fleet from the grunts all the way up to the prophets, especially the prophets severely underestimated us. Then along came the "Demon" that brought their world crumbling down.

Slightly off subjet, has any one gotten the limited edition halo 2 case? Inside is a pamphlet, with conversations of elites and stuff, written to look all military. In it, it talks about the humans, and how some of the elites admit to the humans being better at fighting. We, meanging the humans in halo, are much better at planning, anticipating, and carrying out action. The covenant are really only good at fighting, and have few "smart" leaders. If you get what I mean Just adding my piece of the conversation.
