Halo 2 Vista is the closest to an online Halo 2 experience that you will find.
I know about the free solutions, Xbox Connect and Xlink Kai.
But not many people know about Halo 2 Vista, why is this?
Halo 2 Vista
Built on Live2, aka Xbox 360 Live.
Supports 360 Controller.
Supports Higher and widescreen resolutions, no cheap 360 upscaling.
Live achievements.
Games for Windows Live is free to use for both silver and gold accounts.
A game browser for dedicated servers and peer-hosted games.
Custom maps, and a map maker.
There is no matchmaking.
You can only install this game if your operating system is Windows Vista or Windows 7, Windows 7 users can come across fixable problems.
The compulsory cost is of you buying the game.
Optional would be to buy a whole new PC, or single components like graphics cards, cpu, ram, HDD etc.
I do believe if you people who miss Halo 2, truly support this game, I suggest buying this, as for those who do not meet hardware/software requirements, I would say stick with Xbox Connect and Xlink Kai.
Microsoft and Bungie may not have advertised this game as much as Halo 2, but I am here to let you know, Halo 2 Vista is still online.
