I agree that it can be easy with good strategy. I always get lazy and charge, or at least am too lazy to take cover, so I end up dying multiple times each mission, but if I really wanted to I could eliminate most of my deaths. A few parts that are hard regardless of whether or not one charges are the first room when you board the Truth And Reconciliation and the spot where you have to keep Keyes alive (the idiot stands in the middle of the battle doing nothing, pretty much begging to be killed). Both are on the mission Truth And Reconciliation.
And yes, Legendary is extremely fun, regardless of whether you charge in and die a bunch of times or hang back and pwn. It's all I ever play (but usually with a reckless style).

Just curious, what were the levels you got through with no deaths? Guessing 343 Guilty Spark would be one of the easiest ones...

If I can recall...
I didn't die on The Pillar of Autumn
I didn't die on The Silent Cartographer.
and I didn't die (I didn't even lose health) on 343 Guilty Spark.

The rest weren't too bad, in fact I died less than 5 times on The Library.

Pillar of Autumn I died when I got to the area where you have to go up the stairs in the square room and there's a bunch of Elites at the top firing down. That's the only spot that would make a 0-deaths run hard, IMO. Well done for getting past that.
343 Guilty Spark I died about halfway through the level because I decide to run into the middle of the battle, and after that I stopped trying, but yeah, it's an easy level. Cartographer, for the most part an easy level, but at the bottom of the underground (I believe it was right after accessing the map) it's easy to get overwhelmed if you don't hang back.

Nah, Halo 2's difficulty is ridiculous. Mainly thanks to the sniper jackals. Seriously, there are areas with about 5 or 6 jackals with about 8 or 9 potential spawn points for them (making them hard to predict and prepare for). Combine that with their super accuracy and ability to take you out even if it grazes your calf muscle, and it's a joke.

Combat forms with sniper rifles annoyed the hell out of me too. Because it wasn't even a boss or preset battle type thing (at least not that I could see), they'd randomly spawn with a sniper in the same way they'd randomly spawn with a plasma rifle or SMG. Of course they take you out in one shot too. I'd be running through one of the dark rooms in high charity, complete silence, then BOOOM!!! dead.

The levels without this crap, Cairo, Arbiter, Oracle, and Sacred Icon (I think, haven't run into sniper flood on there for some reason), really aren't too bad. Even Quarantine Zone, Delta Halo, Great Journey, and Metropolis aren't over the top since the sniper jackal thing is under control. But Regret, Uprising, and Outskirts are a joke.

Indeed, I would say that Halo 2 Legendary would be equivalent to Halo: CE if it wasn't for those damn snipers.
No way. In CE at least you stood a chance. Halo 2, 4 plasma rifle shots, shields gone. 2 more, dead. The enemies shoot faster and do much more damage. Compare that to CE, where the enemy does a bit more damage, but shoots a little bit faster. Taking on en Elite minor 1 on 1 in CE, a decent player can kill it with any weapon. Halo 2, you're dead.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

Legendary difficulty isn't hard when you have use your weapons wisely, have enough ammo for your essential guns, know the campaign mission land layout, and know what enemies your gonna be facing on that mission. Once you understand these things, then legendary campaign is relatively easy. This helped me out a lot back when I played halo CE and halo 2 solo on legendary.

Though when it came to the flood levels, the only thing I had to worry about was having enough ammo. I would waste too much ammo in CE just trying to kill the flood, their were far too many flood in CE and not enough ammo when they swarmed you.

BACHANG!BANGARANG!NBOOM!

THe reason it isn't that hard is because the level design is made so you can use different strategies and it seemed that your one worked out great but thats also because the only difference in halo CE about the difficulties is the damage tables and how much damage you do compared to other aliens. In the newer games like halo reach bungie have made it so that that the higher the difficulties the more ai, stronger versions (EG Grunts with fuel rods on legendary vs grunts with plasma pistols on normal.) But in halo CE non the less it is still quite a challenge on legendary.

If anything, I'd say it's the other way around. In Halo's 2, 3, and ODST there's practically no difference BUT the damage tables.

In Halo 1, however, enemies are far more aggressive with their movements and attacks on higher difficulties, and enemy spawns change up a fair amount; namely, you get a lot more elites on Legendary, and the ratio of red:blue elites increases drastically as the difficulty rises.

I suppose Reach also has fairly major changes as the difficulty gets bumped up.

Have done some experiments there, results equal Reach is relatively easy for a CE veteran. Elites still never charge. Many skulls=slightly different experience. Is still a harder go on CE Legendary. The magic formula hasn't been reached. At least for campaign.
