Lol, "might not have a video card"... how would he be seeing anything if he didn't? :D C'mon now...

When you run dxdiag, click on the Display tab and tell us the info that can be found in the Device frame (i.e. the name/model of your video card). Also, on that same tab, does it say Direct3D Acceleration is Enabled?

Graphics card: SiS 650_651_M650_740
Manufacturer: SiS
Chip type: SiS 651 Rev 00
DAC type: Internal
Approx mem: 64 MB
Display mode: 1024 x 768 (32bit) (60 Hz)
Moniter: plug and play
Direct 3D acc enabled

i tested direct 3D- for DirectX 7 and 8 it was fine- message saying it skipps directx 9 becasue the display driver does not support it- u may be able to get a newwerr driver from hardware manufacturer.

Hm.... SiS, sounds like evil onboard graphics. You could try going to the vendor's website and download the latest drivers. The vendor would most likely be your motherboard manufacturer if this is something you put together yourself. If this is a prefab computer, go to the support site for that company (Dell, Gateway, etc.).

I'd also listen to Darthbob and install the latest version of DX, just to see if that's the problem. While your chipset can't utilize certain elements from DX 9, it may benefit from other fixes that were implemented in the new version.

There are a few other options that I can think of, but let's leave it at that for now and see what you find out.

It wont run. SIS is the leading *cough* on board graphics chip maker in the world. Their chip is more popular than Intel's, NVidias, or ATI's onboard gpu. The reason: Dirt Cheap. Japanese made techonology that is Uber cheap! The only way it will run Halo PC is in safe mode, at 640*480, and the colors will look all screwed up.

You said you had 64MB? that's defintetley not enough to run the game, should have like 256-512, or even 128, but im sure 64MB is not enough to run Halo, this game isnt that easy to run, ur computer has to be pertty good.

Video RAM, not RAM, mistic

A 64mb can run halo, just the textures will look crappy, and settings can't be too high
