Seeing as people sprayed bullets everywhere as if they were blind, no, no it did not.

Halo on XBOX uses a combination of reticle magnetism and bullet magnetism.

Reticle magnetism is moderate.

Bullet magnetism depends on the gun; interestingly, some plasma weapons have greater bullet magnetism than the human weapons, which can occasionally be a little distracting when leading shots at the medium range. Turrets have the greatest bullet magnetism as far as I can tell; the warthog's gun can project bullets moderately towards things that aren't even in the reticle. Precision weapons have extremely small bullet magnetism, which means that, combined with the tiny hitboxes, headshotting with the pistol and sniper rifle is rather impressive.

So yeah, it does have aim assist. In fact, the reticle magnetism is probably one of the features that allowed it to help popularize console shooters. I do wish the bullet magnetism on plasma weapons was lowered in some cases, though.

R.I.P. Halo 2

It has some bullet magnetism and some aim assist. I'n my opinion, it had the perfect balance of aim assist and bullet magnetism for a console game.

Right on, there, Bob. Try a game like Jedi Knight 2, which is based squarely on the idea of failure and see how fun it is.
