Uhm... not to be an @55 or anythin', but wouldn't it make a little more sense if Bungie came up with a story for Halo2 that didn't involve any characters who were mentioned in the books alone? my point is that in order to make all Halo gamers (there are those who haven't read the books, for shame!!) "get" the story it would make a whole lot more sense to use characters from the first game and those introduced in the second.... but not those who were introduced in books that not every Halo-gamer has (had the chance to) read.

Just a thought, of course. I trust Bungie to write a story appealling to all no matter what.

I think there will be at LEAST references to characters from the books, even on the site you can see how bungie are using the covenant engineers from first strike. furthermore those shameful ones who havn't read the books can still see whats going on as characters such as Halsey and Ackerson will be re-introduced as it were so it won't matter and the story won't be lost. those who have read the books will see the greater depth of the character, thats all.

Thats true. To go along with what you said Shadow Snipe, I think that might be a possibility. Maybe Dr. Halsey and Kelly are going there to stop Ackerson and take those flash cloned super soldiers to be thier own. They will bring them back to into the fight and blow the Covenant apart. We know that the game takes place half on earth and half on the Covenant homeworld.(I heard this, I might not be correct, someone else please validate this!). SHe could possibly bring them to the homeworld and they would just go on a rampage. The covies would have no chance. Once again, we will not know what will happen until the game comes out! I cnat wait.

Bungie said, that there will be Earth levels, at least one Moon and Halo ring level, and they haven't said how many on the Covenant Homeworld.

Actually, i think you are completely and utterly wrong. In my opinion CPOMZ stands for CPO Mendez, the Spartans' CO. Because if you read the rest of that page, it contains information on cloning, and the DNA patterns of all the Spartan IIs, so piece this together with the fact that askerson was working on a secret NavSpecWep project... and what do you get?

Thats right! new bigger better advanced Spartans, exact clones of the originals, bahbahbahbah!! there you go another 35 or so spartans on tp of the surviving 4, there you go, nearly 40 spartans! Humanity is saved.

Although I disagree with you elmicker, I thank you for your input. If anyone does disagree with my post, please tell me. Just please dont offend anything that people have said in here. We all have a right to disagree and I dont want a post to cause mayhem because someone disagreed with someone else and they get all childish about it. Keep the input coming guys (and girls if there are any out there)

I already said the CPOMZ, sorry. I'm thinking that Halsey went to get the new armor, and to possibly get more Spartans (these would be the lll's).

As far as the books go, Bungie would have to have given the authors a prompt and a storyline/outline with characters and everything, otherwise, they would not be called "OFFICIAL".

Makes sense if in Halo 2 they turn up and give him new armour. After all, in all the Halo 2 screens, he does have different armour that that in the first game. About the clone thing - I can see it being done in desperation to save Earth but is anyone else reminded of Star Wars?

This is a little of topic but i harshly dislike ACKERSON hes a complete @55 and is way to prejudice against the spartans to do anything constructive with the spartanIII's ><

amen flawed! I hate ackerson! clone armies are only needed if it is a last hope. I think in H2 clone armies are not needed. The new bad @$$ ODST's and Master Chief are capable of holding off the Covenant. Im just kidding, hes going to need some more help. He did it in Halo 1 but here, everything's upgraded. Even the Covenant. Kelly and new armor will def. help.

Who wants new armor eh? You dont know how stong the chiefs new armor is, (you know the stuff he wears in HALO 2 thats different from Halo 1) and you already want better. I dont think THAT new armor is a special delivery from halsey and kelly. Its just new stuf that the scientists on earth made for him alone, because they only have to make one suit. He shouldnt get 2 new sets of armor in one game.

I was reading Halo: First Strike for like the third time and stumbled upon a very important discovery. You know how Dr. Halsey basically steals Kelly and goes on some weird secret mission? No one knows where she went, even Cortana. Well I think I have figured it out. This info is on pages 129-130 in First Strike. If you flip to page 129 you will read that Dr. Hasley is looking through Colonel Ackerson's emails. She finds the one called King Under the Mountain: S III. She finds all sorts of stuff he was stealing form her. She then sees he had an email called CPOMZ. There were some coordinates she never heard of and wanted to check it out. So she downloaded them to her data pad which she took with her throughout the rest of the book. My theory is that she looked at those coordinates and somehow figured out where and what they were for. So now shes taking Kelly-087 to this place to some secret thing to hopefully find some new thing help turn the tide in the war or there is something secret there and Dr. Halsey wants Kelly to go with her to protect her and stuff. Tell me what you guys think about it.

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but alot of people have already pointed this out, including myself. It's interesting nonetheless.

Didn't Colonel Ackerson HATE Master Chief and the other Spartans? He even treats him with obvious disrespect at a few points in the novels.. even in front of other ranking officers! I doubt he wants to make his own.. I think he's only interested in the flash cloning and the other stuff because then he has something to use as blackmail against the good Doctor. He hates her and her Spartans. He hates them 'cause her project worked.. not his. Her Spartans were very successful, even though a portion did die.. they were bad ass.. and they did save hundreds and thousands of lives. And I also believe a good portion of the funding for his program (I forget what it was, fill me in someone) was given to the Doctor and the Spartans. And lastly, I think that S3 refers to the program itself ("Section 3" of the ONI), not "Spartan 3". Please tell me what you all think. I'm interested to hear what you think of my ideas. ;D

I read somewhere a long time ago that Bungie had said you can fight along your fellow Spartans. This probably supports the theory the Dr. Hasley took Kelly to find the new Spartans in Sector 3, and are bringing them back to support the fight on Earth.

This might also explain why she took Kelly, just in case something went wrong in Sector 3, she could protect Dr. Hasley.

Nice theory, but, I'm sad to say, it has already been claimed. It's common knowledge on HBO, so now they're speculating on what Ackerson is doing (the most widely accepted theory is, as Shadow Snipe said, flash cloning). Though I must admit, nice find if you figured that out yourself.

Because this pertains to the Enkindu letters we've been discussing. I completely forgot that they mentioned the Army/Ackerson attempting to do their own Spartan like creations

The Enkindu letters have nothing to do with Halo or Bungie. They were written by a fan much like you or I.

Wow, new evidence? How can new evidence come from a book 6 months old? This is nothing new.
