Subject: What is your favourite Halo CE level?

I'm going to say AOTCR, it had snow (which is cool), it seemed longer than most, and it had a variety of things to do i.e. flying, driving a tank, a warthog. Lots!

Halo. When you step out into that giant world. Best feeling on a game when you first play it.

343 Guilty Spark!!! A great twist to the game and entire halo universe by bringing in the flood. The scariest level in any halo game in my opinion. You didnt know what to expect.

I'd have to say either the Maw or 343 Guilty Spark. The cut scene when you meet the flood was just awesome and such a twist. The Maw though, it was hands down best I think. That epic warthog drive to the Longsword with the epic music explosions and enemies flooding around the place was so memorable for the first time I played it with me driving and my cousin on the turret. It was truly a defining moment in video game history. I'd rate it #1 for top epic moments in video game history!

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Ah, the agony of choice.

I'm stuck between the Truth and Reconciliation, 343 Guilty Spark and the Maw.

T&R was fantastic in literally every way, it was atmospheric and ambient with great combat scenarios (grav lift fight on Legendary still gives me shivers when the Hunters drop down) and Under Cover of Night is an utterly divine track. How does the mission end? Keyes rams a group of Hunters with a Spirit, that's too badass!

343 Guilty Spark was another unique level. It's full of tension, like T&R it's ambient and has some very atmospheric music. The scene where the Flood is introduced was amazing too, it was a mission that genuinely scared the living -blam!- out of me whenever I played it during the night with surround sound.

The Maw was such an epic conclusion to the game, especially the infamous Warthog Run through the Autumn whilst everything is blowing up. I had a wild-cat destabilisation in the excitement department when John said that it was just the beginning, then seeing 343 drifting through space - after I worked so hard to kill that bastard.

The Maw is fun. However, 343 guilty spark is probably the most memorable level in all of halo history. The first time playing that level I was on the edge of my seat, and even busted a sweat as I wandered through the blood covered rooms, not knowing what was going on or to expect. Almost cried when I realized I wasn't going to experience that level for the first time ever again.

Assault on the control room without question. This level never gets old and i always end up doing something different every time i play it. The way its designed i cannot memorize the correct way to go, so it leaves you with that maze idea, and thats a really cool effect. Also its got the only scorpion in the game!!!!!!!!

T&R-
1. The night time insertions with the night vision scope.
2. struggle to to keep a viable squad of marines with you until the grav-lift.
3. Endless waves of covies pouring down that lift.
4. That choke point in the rocks that was usually safe to lurk while your shields recharged.
5. The Marine who mutters, "Maybe nobody's home!" just before the hit sits the fan. Belly of the Beast is THE definitive Bungie masterpiece. Hard as hell to get though, but choreographed perfectly.
6. That 'check your back' mentality as enemies spawn behind you time and time again.
7. That first hangar bay where YOU rain destruction down upon your enemies.
8. Second hangar bay where the COVIES rain destruction down upon you.
9. Damned Invisible Elites that tactically retreat and are so hard to spot in that low light.
10. Getting to the bridge and asking 'Isn't this the brig?'
11. Getting to the first brig and wondering "is this a bug or glitch? Keyes isn't here.'
12. Rescuing Keyes and then wishing you hadn't.

Silent Cartographer.

I've played that level so many time, I've lost count. I got the PC demo for Halo: CE, and that was the only playable campaign level. But I loved it. I played and played and played until my eyes bled. And then, I played some more. I beat the motherluvin' crud out of that level.

Ahh...good times. =)
