So I picked up the game this week and my friends will pick it up soon as well and I thought it would be interesting to set up a dedicated server for us to minimize lag and control the games we play. I'm following the read me file but I'm stuck on how to switch to a custom playlist.

the read me says this:

3. In the h2server command line, type
Play location and name of new list
where location and name of new list is the path to the new list. Paths that contain spaces can be specified with quotation marks, for example:
THE EXAMPLE SHOULD GO HERE BUT THE SITE DOESNT ALLOW ME TO POST IT

The server switches to the new playlist as soon as the current match concludes.

I'd post what I wrote here but again, the site doesnt let me post it. I basically followed the example and wrote: "play" followed by location of the file

and I got an error "Too many arguments'

Then I tried leaving out play and I got an error "unrecognized command"

Then I tried typing just play hoping for a sub menu to show up, but it just said "missing argument"

Can anyone help?

This is the average H2 Fanboy.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Here is a tip. First update your server with the offical h2v update on the h2v site, and the newest gfwl if you haven't already. Then start the service. Place the playlist in C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/Halo 2 Dedicated Server/Playlists. Then all you need to do is type "play playlist.hpl"
