before you read this, i want you all to know that i am strictly a console gamer, but this would be an exception.
okay, who cannot say that they had a blast screwing around through halo 3's campaign and multiplayer with friends??? halo 3 is now out of date thanks to bungie's newest game, Reach. Reach has a far superior campaign (almost as good as halo 2's was in my opinion). halo 3 had a multiplayer experience that provided the game to stay alive (as in: glory days) for about 3 years and like halo 2, flushed down the toilet as soon as the next halo game came along, occurring with my beloved halo 3 currently.
Last night, my friends and i were talking about this and thought: wouldn't it be amazing if we could've created our OWN campaign/multiplayer maps??? if we could inject our own models, shaders(skins), sounds...etc. for the realtime map editor, a combination between Far Cry 2/Crisis' sandbox editors. for campaign maps, triggers (loading objects,"x happens when y occurs" sort of thing)could be simplified for your average user by using a method such an "advanced" option with volumes with 'cause and effect' boxes
examples of what what we imagined for maps would be the crazy maps your friends probably told you about on halo custom edition, or the insane maps users have made on just about any game with a sandbox editor. For campaign, people will be insanely creative such as the Portal: Prelude hit.
here's a youtube video of bungie's test maps they released at their panel before reach came out: youtube.com/watch?v=1aOb6Nn8egA# -video courteously recorded by cmnier- now imagine playing on your own campaign experience!
