Poll: Would you like to be able to edit your polls?  [closed]
Yes:  62%

No:  38%
(12 Votes)
Total Votes: 32

I mean, some people make mistakes in their poll and what not, I personally would like to be able to fix a poll just in case I made a glaring mistake that is either distracting or annoying.

No, because you could then change statistics for your favor.

And that way, people can make results to questions that had nothing to do with their original poll. You could change the answers a bit and then mock people for choosing something completely idiotic that they put in. This isn't likely to happen, but if there's a possibility then people are prone to abusing it once they find out about it.

Even Bungie used to do that to us members on the older site.

Hmm, perhaps you are right...oh well.

  • 10.25.2005 6:07 PM PDT

I wouldn't mind this, as long as editing the poll options resulted in all the poll results being reset.

Quiet Fluffy.

Anyway, perhaps we could also add an "edit vote" button. Several times I have voted for someone or something and instantly wish I could take it back. Of course, that like everything else could be abused, but I think overall, it would be very helpful.

I dont think there is much point realy. Is editing a poll really important? And it would get confusing every time someone edits the results they reset. Is it really that important?

But the problem with that would be that if someone didn't like the results they were getting, they could just do a quick edit and it would all be cleared.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Yes, i asked this very question a while back and basicly Deimos got it. If they don't like it, they edit it. If they can edit the question, it just really ruins everything. However, it would be very useful for me sometmes when i make a mistake or something, so if a way of implimenting it without causing problems, then it is certainly a feature i wuld love to have.

Hey, if it's not broken don't fix it. Right?

  • 10.26.2005 6:50 AM PDT

Ah...

(WARNING: Banshee Barron nostalgic moment)

This reminds me of the days when I would create a poll at my chapter, wait a few days for 20-30 people to vote in it (usually with a stupid poll question, such as: Have you had -blam!- sex, ect. ect. where people would obviously choose the "no" answer), and then, in an act of of uttermost evil, I'd flip the "no" with "yes", and then create a post about how horrible the members of my forum were.

Those were wonderfull, carnal times...

[/nostalgia]

I see this issue being abused in much the same way on the public forums. It may be funny once or twice, but it will get old fast.

You can already make a poll like that and just vote in it multiple times.

I poop on that idea unless the poll would get reset.

  • 10.26.2005 3:47 PM PDT

Perhaps only moderators would be able to edit the poll.

Always preview your poll first and think about the options carefully!

This should stop any problems...

I think you should burn your halo disc for wanting something this skill free, host dependent, repetative, stupid, and overall bad. I hope you burn in the hottest fires of hell for presenting such a terrible idea. In conclusion, jesus died for everyone but you.

Did you read any of the other ideas? Like resetting the stats every time you edit? This would be especially good because then you wouldn't need to make a bunch of different polls (unless yours gets lost in the depths of the Forum) because you could just edit it to a new poll when the first is resolved.

What if there was a 24 hour (or so) time limit which you can edit the poll?
