Project Shadow has returned!

Halo 2 Vista is a great game! I have been honored to be playing and beating the game in Easy and Normal so far (The other 2 I shall beat soon). Now I have a problem. Every time I log onto LIVE (Games for Windows Live) and try to join a game, H2V crashes. It would say "Setting Up Game" and freeze from there. I know the game crashes when my mouse cursor disappears before the message does.

Going online for any help was futile, as everyone would just tell me of a hack, or the game crashes in "Campaign" and not in "Multiplayer". What sucks is that apparently there is no fix, and no one is even making any attempt to fix it.

So I come to this Community. Can anyone Shed some light on this subject and give any suggestions? I am tired of having to restart Halo 2 every time I go on LIVE, or have to play a lottery to even play against others without the game crashing.

Dude wrong Halo 2, he's talking H2V not H2X. (I mean really we're in the dang PC forum).

Anyway I'm surprised you even try to play with those specs, my desktop when it had a Radeon HD3200 had issues playing, let alone a GMA 965 (my old laptop had that).

I can't think of anything besides that your graphics card is incapable of playing the game (at least according to game requirements).

My Laptop plays the game fine. I'm talking about the spontaneous crashing that I get when I try to play on LIVE. I just added the specs so that you would know what I had.

It does meet the minimum requirements needed to play at least, though it was a little slow...

the only idea I have is possibly the graphics card. Integrated Intel Chips aren't really meant for gaming. You did say though that the campaign ran fine so I'm probably wrong but does it do it every time you try to go online? like if you create your own server does it do it?

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Reinstall the game. The only thing I could think of would be corrupted files, as if H2v has those issues, then it just crashes, just like how CE gathers exception data.

Ok, let's make it a bit easier. It is not the graphics card, if that was the case, the game would've crashed before I even started it. I don't have to reinstall the game because the game runs fine. All I ask is why does it crash when I try to join specific games on LIVE. So, please, answer the question, and don't worry about the specs...

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

What .dll error do you get?

KERNEL32.dll error?

Project Shadow has returned!

I did not get a .dll error. It only crashed when I play specific games on LIVE.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

lol @ this

Ermac, the problem isn't so much with your computer (although that's pretty fail too) as the game itself, as well as the absolutely atrocious GfWL system. Nobody's making a fix because their time is better spent doing stuff for games that are actually good.

Sorry 'bout your luck, kiddo.

Reinstall GFWL then.
