Elitism makes me sick. Get over yourselves, and please please quit posting the "I am so much better than you/ the not as experienced player" or "The Halo Elites will smite you if you do this." posts. I know this is spam, but it is sickening. I have been playing Halo for years, and I don't go out of my way to gloat just to fill a gap in my social life.

Let the people figure it out themselves. Just because someone doesn't play Halo as well as you or they do things you don't like, it doesn't give you the right to throw around your weight and make a fascist out of yourself. I never play on XBC, but I routinely play LAN parties averaging at 12 people a game, and all the people who act like Elitist usually aren't invited to the next game, just because no one wants to hear that person gloat the entire game while instructing everyone on what they should or shouldn't have done. This doesn't mean trash talking, but when someone comes out of a room and just starts spouting all the things you did they would do differently, you just want them to get out or shut the hell up.

Well, thats what I want you to do.
Good day

For the love of all things squishy, thank you for being rational. I am stuck in Iraq right now and don't have Live, but we LAN all the freaking time. We have a lot of people learning how to play, I don't mock them, I show them cool tricks, I teach them tactics. My game has stepped up to keep ahead of them. Now I know it could be an age thing, I'm 23 so thats probably older than most, but look, I teach old (20-35 years) people how to lay, and you know what? They love it, they just never wanted to because of punks who talk lots of trash. I got a letter from my Master Sergeant's son thanking me for teaching his dad to play, his dad wants to buy a router and stuff so he can play. (In the navy Master Chief is equal to Sergeant Major, so Master Sergeant is one rank below Master Chief/Sergeant Major)
Anyway, I am rambling, I just wanted to say, people Its supposed to be fun!

If you are good enough to be considered elite, you shouldnt have to brag. Take the time to help other people out with their game, instead of bragging about how great your game is. Teach other people to be as good as you. No one likes someone who brags all the time about how good they are.

I consider the Halo ranks to go as follows:
* n00b
* Rookie
* Intermediate
* Pro
* Elite
* God

I'd probably say that I'm hovering in the centre of pro (maybe a little towards Intermediate) and as you can see its not something to brag about.

When I came on these forums a few months ago I noticed that lots of people just brag at how good they are (with no proof by the way). Then there are a select few players that are actually good, don't brag and actually help out the newer players.

I have a lot more respect for the 'Help Out' Elites than the 'Trash Talk' Elites in the Halo world.

yeah, those "Elite"'s who tend to help people are the people that people like.

i don't rank people. there's either people that are experienced at halo, or those who aren't. "skill" can't really be measured, since one elite can be better than another elite, and the variables (the map, gametype, weapons, etc.) can make a huge difference on the skill of a player. to be truely elite, you must be good at EVERY combination. i suck when it comes to ffa, but i usually do much better in a team game, since you always have someone watching your flank.

i agree im an elite and in my other forum i tried to help out beginners with the shotgun but these 3 guys tried to call me out and it turned into this huge argument these forums are about halo not trash talking, i admit i trash talked but only because they kept saying i was a noob and im not. maybe all these people would show more respect if they played the people before talking.

Well, if you really wanted to prove you're an elite player, then ignore them and keep helping the newcomers. That would give you more respect then trash talking.

Y'know what? People that trash talk arn't "trash talking Elites", they are the noobs, any Real elite would know there's no achievment in beating someone who isn't as experienced as you.
What the so called "Elites" need to realize is that,
"You don't gotta' be a jackass it's just a game!"
It doesn't matter how good at it you are. Same thing goes for people that call themselfs Elites because they camp.

mwa mwa ha ha ha. i yell and scream at the pethetic N00Bs! HA HA HA HA!

i only really yell at the ones who brag about their skills when they N00Bs. ( "Can you kill a hunter with one...i CAN!") they never ask questions they just think they are good and end being stupid and it bugs me. thats why i flame. alot.

N00Bs all you of you!

Shotgun Killa did give hints on shotgun use in one of his threads. He didn't give hints on anything else though. :) Also he was bragging, saying he was a God of Halo and everyone should listen to him cause he knows everything. I simply hate -blam!- like that, even if they are good.. you don't have to brag constantly and put yourself in the ranks of 'God'. Have you ever went to a major tournament and played against the likes of Zyos? Ogres? T2? Walshy? Wait, you haven't? Then how do you consider yourself a God? Exactly..

Yes Elites should help out newer players but they shouldn't brag and act like their shi.t don't stink.. which is what ShotgunKilla does.

No matter how good you think you are, there is always someone who can beat you. Your time will be better spent respectfully helping newcomers to a game than driving them away by bragging.

In this world, there will be always someone better than you. If you are crowned the best, then it won't be long till someone challenges you. Its a fact of life.

The part about helping out newcomers is also true. You can respectively help out new people without digrading them or in some cases, putting them off altogether. For example, instead of saying "OK NOOBS <THIS IS BOOTCAMP", you could say "New to Halo, Look Here for Tips". Then follow the title with some easy-to-understand tips. It works out better for everyone because the new aren't making stupid spamming threads and getting shot to s**t because what they've said is hiliariously stupid.

I got to admit though, when n00bs come out with things like "I can kill a Hunter with a single shot! Can you?", you just have to flame and/or take the piss due to the blatent ignorance.

i think you cant even say your the best or an ''Elite'' only say you can play the game really well so no1 will look better than the other :-). By the way a game is made to have fun not to make a war of stats and stupid thing about better then you or i can beat everyone. Just have fun that the point
