The following story is an account of one of the strangest and most elaborate dreams that I can remember.
It began with the video game Halo. I fought my way through swarms of enemy aliens (they looked like the aliens from the Alien movies), eventually reaching a point at the edge of a cliff, where Cortana told me that I was near the end of the game. So I entered a nearby installation and fought my way to a small platform, where I found my two friends Chris and Davis, along with Gandalf from Lord of the Rings. I gave each of them a magical talisman, which allowed them to join me in the final assault against the aliens. My cousin told me that I still needed to give the talisman to one more person: the “Odd old man”.
So I embarked on a long and extremely odd quest to find the old man. Cortana told me that he lived in a small house on the top of a mountain, so I climbed to the peak of the nearest mountain, only to find that it was the wrong one. Cortana showed me the correct mountain, and I began to climb it. I took a wrong turn and ended up in an area so dark even a flashlight could not penetrate the blackness around me. My friend Meg informed me that I had taken a wrong turn, so I walked to the bottom of the mountain and tried again. This time I succeeded, and found myself outside the home of the old man.
Incidentally, the rest of my classmates (minus Chris and Davis, of course) were there. My friend Kevin joined Meg and me and together we entered the old man’s house. The old man was not an old man at all, but my friend Emily. I gave her the talisman, but she told me she could not use it until we performed a special ritual. As part of this ritual, she and Meg would disappear, reappearing in a closet in my room (the closet was by itself in the middle of a field). So the two of them disappeared, and Kevin and I waited, forgetting that they were supposed to appear in a closet. After an hour or two of waiting hopefully, I remembered about the closet and promptly entered it, Kevin right behind me. The closet turned out to be a small room, filled with antiques and old suits. Emily and Meg were nowhere to be found, however. We searched hopelessly, and I began to realize that perhaps they were not the most trustworthy of people. I looked out the window of the closet and saw them walking by. I tried to give Emily the talisman, but she responded, “My mom already has one.” As soon as she said that, I realized I had been tricked. Emily and Meg did not possess magic powers, as I had thought, and neither did the talisman. Kevin and I watched as they walked away, our feelings a mix of anger and betrayal.
The End
Very strange indeed. I have a lot of weird dreams like that. If you didn't read all of it I don't blame you.
