I see no reason for that thread to have been locked. We may have been dancing around the smae circles, but we were being polite about it. No one was flaming; no one was spam posting to bump it every half hour (though I have asked the same three questions three times now...get ready for number four).
It was a civil post, a civil thread, and a civilized discussion. who locked it?
1. Who made the security patches for Halo PC?
2. Does Gearbox still have any legal right to change the netcode for halo PC?
3. Who, exactly, makes the final decision as to what gets fixed in regards to this or any other game? What department of Microsoft? Please be more specific.
Some possible good news. I got a reply to the hacking incident. They didn't read the entire email obviously, but they are directing me elsewhere.
To report complaints about the aimbot hack, try 866-727-2338, the hotline number for Microsoft's new Microsoft Strategic Technology Protection Program and part of the "Trusted Computer"(aka TC aka Totalitarian Crud) insanity they are affiliated with. They are an intended department for handling virus-related attacks on computers, but they also deal with hacker intrusions. I say someone hacking the code in their most popular PC game qualifies. So do they; I got the number from them.
If you choose to call, report known hacks, offer download sites with vids and pics for proof (or the program if you have it) and make sure they understand that this is effecting EVERY server. If I get a response from these braindead jerks, I'll add the number to my sig.
TeamKillers should be reported as glitch exploiters, as they are using the reset function of the game to refresh temakills and stay in the same server. As this isn not a hack, though, expect to be redirected or stonewalled at this time.
