I was in my group just now and I saw a new orange XML button. Did this just go live?

It's on the front page too. How do you plan on utalizing this feature?

Subject: XML is here! I can't believe it

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

I noticed today also. Whats it for? Whats it do?

From: XML.com
RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites like Wired, news-oriented community sites like Slashdot, and personal weblogs.

Once information about each item is in RSS format, an RSS-aware program can check the feed for changes and react to the changes in an appropriate way.

RSS-aware programs called news aggregators are popular in the weblogging community. Many weblogs make content available in RSS. A news aggregator can help you keep up with all your favorite weblogs by checking their RSS feeds and displaying new items from each of them.

Does anybody have a recomondation for a news reader (aggregator)? Best if it's user friendly and FREE. (And works with Internet Explorer)

Well, given that you can type in "RSS feed" into google and learn all about them, I don't feel I have to explain it to you. Click the XML button and see what happens. Some of you won't care. To those that do care, it matters a lot.

Is there a suggestion on what news aggregator I should use to decipher this RSS feed? I'm new to this.

*Edit* I figured out that It's RSS 2.0 - so I guess we need a 2.0 aggregator.

I have never used them, but people that use them really seem to like them.

All I know is that you have an RSS program. You subscribe to the feed, and it's fed to your RSS program. I don't know how the program works, or even how to get one, but it doesn't matter to me since I don't plan on subscribing.

If anyone uses Firefox, you should get the extension called Sage. It's a built in newsreader that works really well. Instead of having to check all my friends sites, news sites, gaming sites, etc to see if they've updated, I just refresh sage, and it checks all their RSS feeds. If one has been updated, it gets marked, and I know to go there to see the new content. It's very slick. The trick is finding the RSS feeds for all of your favorite sites, some aren't as easy to find as others, and many don't have them yet. Not Bungienet anymore.

Ya same question. This looks like a job for Google Search.

Ahem. You are incorrect. Moderators have gold text. The online team does have white. However, it didn't appear this time for some reason.

I thought mods had the white text. And so far I only seen SketchFactor and Achronos having gold text.

Ah thank you! I put the RSS in Options > Manage Feed List > New Bookmark. Now when I click on Bungie.net in my list of bookmarks the bungie.net news shows up.

The really annoying thing is the BB code. Is there any way Firefox can translate this or something?
