Mods on power trips crack me up.

Why cant bungie admit they got Halo PC very badly wrong and left it to rot?

I agree. I've sent Goweb a private message, so, if you don't get a reply here from moderator(s) hopefully goweb will bother with my message. Although, seeing as how the moderators here don't allow anyone to say anything against Bungie, I can't see us lasting much longer.

I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind locking the thread the first time, let alone the second. Instead of one thread where we can meet and discuss the topic, now there is the potential to become a myriad of smaller threads devoted to the seperate issues.

It doesn't make the situation better. In fact, splintering us only makes it worse, as we become less cohesive in the forum. those with a willingness to speak rationally about the seperate problems have less opportunity to contain the more...vile and inaccurate posts that can bounce up in the forum due to frustration at this problem.

Which perpetuates the stereotype that mods are "nothing more than Bungie bullies" who "spew corporate lines while silencing anyone who speaks out against REAL problems just when it looks like they are finally making progress". Thats paraphrasing from previous posts, but you get the idea.

Instead of one thread where we can vent frustration, be corrected, and hopefully come to a civil and rational majority, we are back to mob rule. Resentment grows as the problem is not solved and our complaints are effectily silenced.

What we need now is not silence. We need union. That thread shouldn't have been locked in my opinion.

It should have been stickied.

My take on it is that all most of the people were doing in that thread were bashing bungie and anything else cuz were mad about not gettingh2 on pc. I posted there but i was trying to propose some meaningful arguments.

People need to stop bashing and whining and just be mature no matter how much we are deflected this way and that to keep us from any meaningful support. Therefore i also would like an explanation of exactly where the halo pc universe stands in the eyes of bungie and why we cant get a badly needed patch for this game.

Why do you think we`rr whining? We`rr talkin about and taking on the true problems and are trying our best to come into contact with the officials,to try to make this shell of a game great again...we`rr trying to get them to give a rats behind about their customers...it`s unfair, rude, uncivilised and not to mention uneducated to treat us in such a manner.

"Why cant bungie admit they got Halo PC very badly wrong and left it to rot?"

Very Badly Wrong?

Here's how it is. If they don't want to answer you, they are not obligated to! Ask all you want until you're blue in the face - ultimately, the only say that YOU have is how YOU choose to spend your money. If Bungie chooses to ignore certain posts - they're more than entitled to. As a friendly suggestion, keep the business end of all this in perspective, because, ultimately, Bungie is a business and YOU are the consumer.

Please don't misunderstand me - I support your message and what you're trying to get across, but I believe you're wasting your time constantly demanding answers.

Certainly feedback can be a great tool for designers, but in a media like this forum, not to mention hundreds of other forums, I see how it can be overwhelming to have to sort through and read, let alone reply to ALL of the comments, suggestions, and criticisms. We're talking a lot of expense to sort through it all. I don't doubt that Bungie does engage in feedback sessions, but in a more controlled environment - ie. a specific panel of 'testers', 'gamers'... An environment where the feedback can properly be measured and evaluated.

You are competing to be heard over the noise thousands of people are making over one topic, because there are few limiting and organizing devices to forums. Frankly, if you read some of the hair-brained, ignorant, misinformed stuff that gets posted on the forums, wouldn't you also grow tired of trying to listen to everyone? It's not a perfect system, but then as a general rule, you would decide to shut out the noise and listen only to a specific, organized group of people. Sucks, but such is life.

If you really want to make a difference, contact Bungie by snail mail, and ask if they're hiring 'testers' or looking for focus group participants.

Dude...u`r missing one small piece in your puzzle:
The Maw has a few regulars that have half a brain and talk smart, civilised and unoffensive...if they`d just ask the mods(who know us) they could just talk to us and have a "smart" feedback program.

Why can't they use their own forum as a "feedback program?" It's obvious when you come to this forum what the main issues are. You look at the posts with the most comments and then you have your "feedback." Bungie does not have to read every single topic to find out how their game is doing. It's pretty clear just from looking at the first page on the forum, what the "issues'" are.

There is no excuse for their ignorance, and we don't plan on shutting up anytime soon. Their moderators should pool together the biggest concerns and voice them to the right sources. It's only as difficult as "they" make it.

If you want a problem taken care of you fix it. You don't ignore it untill it hopefully goes away. I can't believe the way that we get treated in this forum. We voice our concerns in a profesional way, and the mods lock the thread.

There's nothing wrong with being pro-active, and if Microsoft, Bungie, or Gearbox are setting these kind of examples for things to come, than I guess we will watch their demise.

We should keep this thread on the first page of the forum.

Keep the comments rolling.

While polarization of the moderators in favor of this issue would be helpful, please keep in mind that they are not Bungie employees.

They have no more ability to contact Bungie than we do. At least, that is what they have always said.

As for ignorance, its possible that they do know something and are simply not allowed to tell us. While there is no "secret email", certain information may be censored from public converstaion.

unfortunatly, as witnessed by the constant locking of threads, this issue appears to be becoming one of them.

I agree. Moderators seem only to pop up when someone does something wrong. However, you are right again: I don't think they can contact Bungie any more than we can. (No offense to the moderators, I respect them :) ) I think it would be ironic if this got locked up... lol!

more than likely it will get locked. like minus said maybe this is offlimits so the mods are being forced to look each of these topics. look all of us are reaching the end of our patience( b lost it a month ago) we can only be rational about this for so much longer. maybe we are all asking to be banned. i dont know anymore. but i do know this, i gonna keep fighting for this im gonna rough up a few sites, im gonna keep voicing my opinion even after someone(begins with j) tried to chew me up. im preety sure the mods are trying to seperate us, keep us from uniting. i think that they believe that the more they seperate us the less chance we have of fighting this. if this gets locked, three weeks from now everyone is gonna be like b. :D im serious so i say this, ill organize an xfire chat room, anyone from bungie can come in and discuss this. i say fridayish at around 5:00pm mountain time so that everyone from different time zones can make it. if you want to be on this my xfire is on the bottom. post here and send me a call. if everyone is with this ill do it if not then ill figure something else out. And if this gets locked, ill make a seperate thread about this.(and ill stay on my xfire from now on and not be off all the time heh.)

Few reasons: It's unorganized feedback. Ask a simple question like should Blood Gulch have more trees? and you'll get everybody and their brother voicing their own individual opinion. You'll get dozens, if not hundreds of different answers. As a forum designer, who do you listen to?

Other reason: There are no filters for who posts here. Who are all of you and why should I believe what you are saying? Better yet, WOULD YOU invest hundreds of thousands of dollars based on the opinions of a few hundred people? It may feel like there's a lot of traffic and a lot of users in this forum - it's still just a drop in the bucket.

Other reason: Who will represent the opinion of people who would NOT buy H2PC? I could care less about some games being made or not, but I'm not going to go forums dedicated to those games just to tell people that I couldn't care less.

Technically...they do. The voting booth is an area where groups of people can be heard about specific issues related to Bungie games. From voing for your favorite character, to (presumably) what issues should be addressed about their games.

Also, the Septagon is a place to address in game issues and seek technical support. While most of this has degenerated into "Vote for your favorite AVATAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (imho) nonesense, halo 2 tech issues are sometimes discussed there.

Unfortunately, any attempt to broach subjects about Halo PC, technical or otherwise, outside the Maw has met with moderators kicking the thread right back in here...if they don't decide to lock it first.

For some reason, someone doesn't want this information intruding into the other forums. then again, they don't want us talking about it HERE either.

The Voting Booth is a fun board. The polls really mean nothing.

The Septagon is purely for community-related issues. Halo 2 tech issues are quickly (re)moved.

This is because The Maw is the on-topic board for Halo PC. Halo 2 posts are (to the best of our ability) kept away from boards other than New Mombasa and Zanzibar.

I see a mod has found this, and not bothered to answer the main point of this thread.

In that case, please close the thread, as it will get no-one anywhere and will only make people (rightly so) flame the mods and bungie.

Its obvious the some of the mods treat us with contempt.

I don't know who closed the thread, and therefore cannot answer the main point of this thread. I could only guess as to why that particular mod chose to close it.

The second thread was closed because it was a continuation of the locked thread, which I told the person who PMed me. He obviously couldn't be bothered to pass this on to you guys.

Don't criticise me when you only have half the information.

Well, whoever he is, I wish the original moderator who closed the original thread would come in and tell us exactly what we were doing to get his knickers in a twist.

If it was a combination of things, or a single post that had spread a topic into the fabric of the thread. If he thought a flame war was in the works is another good reason. But we weren't flaming anyone. Not even Bungie. Not really. Most of us were pointing out frustration and hypothesising consequences if this situation were left untreated.

Point is: compared to Zanzibar that thread was quite civil. Just locking it outright was not helpful.
