How very sly to use the mod as an excuse to justify taking a stab at me. After all, you've given them more grief than anyone. But I suppose anything can go out the window when it suits that person.

You automatically assume every post I make is directed towards you. I do believe you're getting paranoid, and I hadn't even started anything, yet you immediately jump on the defensive and start looking for trouble right away. But now that you mention it...I do believe goweb has "diplomatically" tried to get it through to you that the constant whines you post on these forums won't get you anywhere, yet you still continue, nevermind me.

As for your PM...all in good time. Like I said, I don't use these forums as much as some people.

@ Minus Sign:

Dude...excuse me...but if these "mods" (if u wanna call them that) work for Bungie then don`t tell me you belive that they have no way of contacting Bungie just like we don`t...it`s utter BS...even if it was voluntary work for no pay whatsoever they`d still need to ask Bungie to give them the acces necesary...

We only have access to the b.net team. We have no way of contacting Bungie staff who'd be able to help you. If you don't believe that then quite frankly I don't care.

@ Mr. B and the other dude who`s name i can`t remember:

Keep your crap on PM`s guys.

@Bungie:

Do somthing positive for your PC fans and listen to what they have to say and reply...

mods don't work for Bungie. They're volunteers. maybe a selected few (2-3) actually work for the bungie.net site, but its doubtful any of them are bungie development staff. And by goweb admitting he has access to the b.net team it doesn't mean he has access to anyone who can fix the game. maybe someone who can get a darn search function put into the forums, but not the game. Different departments.

That's just a clearification. it doesn't mean I like this situation anymore than you do.

Mr B: ignore Idryll. Everyone else does. My personal impression of the man: he's probably one of the many ME=KING's on the Bungie servers. He gets his kicks pounding you in game; then for a change of pace he openly laughs at your impotence in this forum. It's just another way for him to have fun at your expense.

Mr. B,

I have read your thread. It is nothing but intelligent thought expressed with excellent typing.

However, you still missed one very big point:
Bungie did not make Halo PC. They provided the X-Box title that Gearbox ported to PC.

In other words, as Bungie did not actually make this title and may not possess the staff or equipment and are unable to address our issues with Halo PC, it is irrational to post your thoughts here with any hope of them (our PC issues,) being corrected.

I think that this may explain the Moderator issues here as well, as they understand that your posts are directed at the wrong company.

Gearbox has also addressed many of the issues with Halo Custom Edition, particularly the laggy netcode. The problem with that is that it isn't very popular and it is a very large download that some may not be able to get. The solution, which I see is what you are after, is to release another Multiplayer update in which the problems are finally solved. I'm behind you 100%.

Bungie may be able to contact Gearbox and inform them of the various issues, but it's a much better idea to go straight to the source.

We should be complaining to Gearbox.

Everyone needs to stop smashing the forum mods, and bungie. Arn't we all here because we love Halo? Why would we bash our favourite game makers? And if every goober on this site asks the mods when Halo 2 is coming out for PC and Mac it will not get any more done. The mods are not the programmers. I know how you feel because I want Halo 2 also. I was about to email questions about that topic to the webmaster, but I saw the sticky and didn't. I have about 20 people who signed that email, but what more do you want, the mods gave you the best answer they could, Halo 2 may come out for PC or it may not. And remember, building a game is not easy. It costs money, but then again, what PC user wouldn't buy it?

You people are all forgetting who moderators are. Moderators are just like you and I. They have no other connection to Bungie other than that of this forum. Being and having been a moderator of several other forums, I can attest through personal experience that the majority of the moderators are definitely NOT employees of bungie, but rather fans like you and I.

Oh, and to be completely honest, not all of us "love" halo. Anybody who's gotten frustrated warping halfway across the map can attest to that. Some of us aren't pushing for H2PC, but simply demand necessary updates to H1PC.

At least we got an official answer through Achronos...

A sidenote. While I beleive most the mods dont have any sort of access to bungie, I dont beleive that the head one/s dont. You dont just give a person cart'e blanche (sp?) over something like the bungie forums and just leave them the same way of contacting bungie as us. Which, according to Goweb, is none.
stosh & Yoozel had a lot of involvement with Chapter Founders on the old crapness, and so was a natural choice for Master Forum Ninja.

Shishka has worked at Bungie, but no longer does.

Recon #54 gave Achronos a box of baked goodies.

None of them have any more access to Bungie than normal mods do.

I agree. What's the point of having moderators if they can't relay feedback about Halo to Bungie. I can't understand why a forum moderator would have no way of contacting the company this forum represents. The only reason I can think of is they are not allowed to talk to the public about these issue's. If so that's pretty un-professional.

Achrono's said he would answer a PM. Why can't they answer on the forum? Many people want some answers, or a better excuse on why they can't give them. Why are the moderators a part of the forum? To lock threads? To tell us things we can answer for our selves? To put the smack down when somebody swears or insults someone else?

I'm just tryin to understand why these issue's get nowhere. And why moderators have administrator rights over the forum but no way of contacting Bungie or M$.

Dude, I'm sitting in a computer lab in the basement of my residence hall in Michigan. I've never even seen Bungie Towers. It's not like I can just wander over to someone's desk and talk to them about this. I don't even know their e-mail addresses.

Seriously, just admit that you're completely wrong. I'm not going to argue this point anymore.

ok goweb lets just say hipotetacly that you are telling the truth, if you dont know how to contact bungie then you have to know someone that does, i mean the worl is a small world after all. up till a few days ago i didnt know that one of the members in bungie.net is actually a very good friend of mine.(bad example) but you have to know someone who knows this info and can push to bungie. were pushing this issue because we know at least one of you can contact bungie. ok so its not you. you know the person who does. thats why everyone is calling foul here

Have you been a moderator of a website before?

Moderators are volunteers. And fans, just like you and I. The don't have to have a solid connection with the company whose forum they moderate. And they don't need to. Forums are designed to be self-supporting communities where fans help other fans in a consolidated knowledge base.

Hell, if you've stuck around this forum for long enough, every once in a while you'll see a regular member attain moderator status.

=====><=====

Now, back on topic, I AM a bit irked that there's no way to contact bungie.

I think we all understand what a "moderator" is. But, don' t you think they have a closer relationship with Bungie? They have certain administrative right's over this forum. Who do you suppose gave them these right's?

I know they are limited on what they can do about our gripes about Halo, but, I'm sure their foot is further in the door than ours. I guess what we are looking for is a confirmation that they have made an attempt to voice some of these concern's.

Who do you think Gearbox, Bungie, or Microsoft will take time to listen to first? Several thousand seperate consumers, or, a hundred or so moderator's of the major websites that conduct these forums on their products? Maybe this is just an idea on something that is possible, but just simply is not.

We can all agree we are frustrated. We can also agree on trying to find a logical solution or just continue to disagree.

Peace

Closer relationship to bungie? No. Listen: Bungie the company works in this way: Bungie's got a group of people who take care of the inner workings, they're the people who know about the games, and all this stuff we want to contact them about. They're who you want to get in touch with.

Now, we've got the bungie.net webmaster, who probably has no idea about the inner workings of the company and is there just to maintain this website. He assings perhaps two people to be master moderators. Those two master mods assign other mods, and now you have the working group of b.net moderators. In other words, the mods have no other ways of contacting the company they moderate the forum for. And they don't need to have one. If something's wrong, they've got the master moderators. They don't even need the webmaster to maintain the forum. So asking why the mods can't reach bungie is akin to asking why we can't fly. It's just impossible.

As alway's, I appreciate the input.

Perhaps I'm just wasting energy on a dead issue.

But, since you (me15ter) seem to understand how this forum works, maybe you can explain to the rest of us the next step on voicing our concerns to the right people. I have tried several e-mails to Gearbox, Bungie, and Microsoft with no success. I am closer to getting answers on this forum than anything else I have done.

All I was tryin to say on my previous post was a logical, realistic way to get feedback on a product that this forum represents.

I played Bungie server's last night and it was the same warping, lag, tk's, and all that crap Halo seem's to be getting famous for. This is one of the best online games I have ever played, but is quickly going down the toilet. This due to lack of support.

So (me15ter) maybe you can share some of your worldly advice on how to reach the right people, instead of telling me how this forum is structured. If you don't care about these issue's, than simply don't answer. I'm pushing for progress not opposition.

Peace.
