Most people just call it humping...basically a sign of domination over an enemy you just owned.

It is stupid, and that all who practice it should be... ::finds the right words:: made to cry, slashed with a million papercuts, have salt rubbed in the cuts, have their entire body burned with flame, beaten with a bat until they are a bloody pulp, and then drowned. that about sums up my disdain for that utterly rediculous, stupid-looking, childish, immature manuver.

I'm going to guess that you have bad experiences with getting owned, and subsequently humped, John.

I have no problem with getting killed, but there is *NO* excuse for such immature and ignorant behavior.

Jeez, calm down there John, it's just a game.
I, myself, find humping in Halo rather amusing, and a fun way to blow off steam after you've killed a tough adversary.

No. It is not. If you want to blow off steam *shoot* the dead body, like the United Nations Space Command Marines do in the campaign. 'Teabaging' is retarded, as is anyone who practices such foolery. I have had to fight the urge to unload a clip into teammates for engaging in such a display of stupidity, infact I believe I may have killed a few on occassion for such ignorance.

I think you're taking it a little too seriously.
Did someone you love have their dead body humped?

How so? It's in the game, we're just having a conversation over getting your dead body humped during a game of Halo.

The squatting is a classic form of taunting which comes from the real life action of teabagging. (teabagging is when you squat and touch your testicles to another persons forehead, usually while they sleep. It makes them really mad and grossed out.)

John has a serious psychological problem if a representation on screen of a man made out of polygons humping another man made out of polygons induces severe rage.

That's one of the funniest things I've ever read.

bah

I love to corpse-hump me dead foes. It's all part of winning. It pisses people like you off, and that makes you play worse. Anything you can do to psych out your enemy is a good tactic. I personally prefer the squat and switch weapons to make it look better, but if I have 2 rifle-type weapons, I'll repeatedly squat.

Lighten up bucko! -- OK sure it's immature -- so what - If you don't like it - don't do it, but it's not very mature to get angry about it...
It's actually quite ignorant.

A crouch, or 'Hump' manouvre is simply a taunt, that seems to work best on people that are too uptight or immature to let it pass with a chuckle.

No, anger does not make me play worse. I am not some fool who allows his anger to run rampent with him. I focus my anger and become more centered on the task at hand. Making me angry is not an advisable strategy.

Lighten up?! I wil lighten up when you fools understand what honour and sportsmanship is.

There is no honour in Halo. It's just killing. Who cares, it's all fun and games. Don't get so tight about it.

  • 08.17.2004 8:18 AM PDT

The origin of halo squating........

Halo humping can find its origins way back to the Halo beta days. It was first done (presumably) by Paul Bertone "ruiner", with Stefan Sinclair "Shaq Diesel" at the receiving end.

The rest is history.

This is a video game we're talking about, not being a Samurai in Feudal Japan.

Have you never played online? EVERYONE on XBL corpse humps (Also known as teabagging)

Its fun. Just for the hell of it and to embarrass whoever you killed. Its even funnier when you get killed while corpse humping.

There is honnour to every part of life; work, games, love, whatever. But we live in the age of honourless curs, and I forget I am in the minority. Such a sad state the world is in.

So you're saying, that if I hump somebody's dead body in a videogame, then I am an honorless bastard.
