It's funny because I'm seeing the same <100 names posting on all the main groups...I see the same people one the forums...but have you notcied that there is no Bungie.net unity? Those 100 people get divied up amoungst maybe 300 successful groups, a few random half-frequenters drop in now and again...and that's about it. I dunno...just something I've been thinking about.

Hm. This isn't really something I've noticed myself. Check some of the other forums, there are far more than 100 people browsing B.net every day.

Now, if you mean "regulars", yes, I'd say there were around 100-150 that have stuck aound for a good long while. But of those few, there are several hundred who are either just droping by or have just started making a name for themself.

I've noticed a few members, 25-30, who post a lot in the forums. In my opinion, they are regulars.

I think there's more than 200 or even 300 regulars. It just depends on where you post. For example, most of you won't recognise my name, but I post to the forums almost every day. It's just not very often in the public forums.

I think there are gulfs between different Bungie forums and between different members. (Is that a good thing or a bad thing?) Apart from the Septagon, I don't really have that much interest in the rest of the public forums, but prefer groups that cater to more specific interests. Does that make me part of the (disunity) problem?

So CrOsS eLi73 might have a point, that there is not enough Bungie.net unity.
Maybe when the forums change around, we should have less, not more.

I agree, many users tend to post in a select few forums. Ex. One user may post only in the Flood where as another user might post in the Septagon and the Underground. All I can say is that every user on bungie.net is different.

I consider myself a regular, even though I don't post as much as I used to. I browse a lot.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Members come and go. Alot of members post once and anever even come back.

The circle of life on any site with a forum.

Small means u get to know people, large means more diversirty and most time activity.

Phrog pilots, reckless and free. We would strap into our birds, set the engines on fire, and leave these earthly bonds with a chorus of WHOP WHOP WHOP. Akin to beating your chest and howling in defiance at the rest of the world.

There's a lot more people here than you may be aware of. Just because a name sticks out because that member is posting a lot is not always a good thing. I, as well as many others, are on here every day but may only post or reply to things that seem worthwhile.

As for asking if a small community is a good or bad thing? I don't think it's the size of the community that matters but the quality. I would prefer lower activity with quality posts over a large active community if given the choice. To each their own though.

There are always regulars. And then the newcomers that post. Everywhere. Every community, every forum. The Septagon has a good amount of regulars and newcomers a small list would be:

Major Regulars
Kilroy
Pimp at sea / Pink Menace
Gods Prophet
Nakki
marinealver

Newer or Semi regulars:
DarkAssasn
lucifersangel
EAGLES5
Ender
Pistol

Then we have all these other people coming in. Those names were all from memory. Just people you see. But there are more of course. This list is not official, dont act like it, it was just for an example purpose. Dont get offended.

I think a medium community is best. Fair amount of regs, fair amount of newcomers. Just to keep things interesting.

I dont know if many remember, but just lik a week or 2 ago, it was VERY VERY slow here. The regulars dont post hardly unless its a spark of insiration or a newcomers thread. No one new was coming in so no good threads were made. It just sat still.

Without the new people its just boring. Thats why occasionaly jaunts to The Flood are so enticing. Less crap than zanzi, and interesting posts often.

It was slow two weeks ago, I remember b/c Killroy was banned. Nothing was moving, it was like a graveyard (I was very scared).

More regulars then that nakki.

I dont compare to most.

The spetagon is a safty zone, no crazy nuts from the flood and no flammers from zanzibar.
SEPTAGON still cant spell it lol

Except you get to help build the slingshot, I'm sure one day that will be one of the seven wonders of the world...

Anyway, I'm sure most of the regulars arn't going anywhere soon. I don't know if people consider me a regular, but I'm not leaving soon.

I was under the impression that we all get to help build the slingshot, or rather we all help build the slingshot or else we take a ride on the slingshot...

either way, we are going to get bored while making this slingshot.
at that time, we will plan for a night attack.we will wait for one of our co-builders to sleep, sneak into his tent, set him up on the shot and wait for him to wake.
he'll say'whats going on?'
right then, we'll all shout field test! and launch him off!
