I'm stuck on Truth and Reconciliation. I'm on the part when you barely enter the ship when the Marine says "Theres no Covenant." Then Gold Elites come out of doors with Grunts.

Any tips? I keep getting owned by these enemies!
I ran out of ammo for my sniper, so I have a AR and Plasma Rifle.

Stuck at that exact same point. I'd try the plasma pistol headshot combo. Charge to get sheilds down, then give em a sniper round.

Or actually, in your situation, the best I can think of is to charge the PP and then unload the AR.

Supreme Dictator, Industrial Polluter, Megalomaniac, Corrupt Politician, Underhanded Reprobate, Rainforest Ravager, Puppy Kicker, Oil Spill Coordinator, Holiday Hater, and an Insurance Salesman.

Oh why did you have to remind me of these old horrors?

I ended up wasting my sniper ammo on them, I don't recommend that except as a last resort though. You'll be much better served trying to PP/pistol combo them as mentioned above, or maybe get lucky enough to stick 'em with a plasma grenade.

But I ran out of ammo for the Sniper Rifle and now I have a AR and Plasma Rifle.

Well the Plasma Pistol will be your best bet, and there will be no shortage of them. So just combo with them with that and your AR, and pray that you get only 4-5 to spawn instead of 7-8.

By the by, if you are out of Sniper ammo have fun with the Hanger. I didn't have any Sniper ammo during that part either... let's just say that it took me a full weekend of playing to beat this level.

Holy -blam!- maybe I should skip this level then.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Should have kept the sniper because you will come across more ammo and trust me you'll need it.

Fear not! You may have better luck than me, and in fairness I was pretty crummy at the game overall at the time (this was back in 2006 I believe). And don't skip a level, it'll just cheapen the sense of accomplishment when you finish all the others.

I consider this level to be the high-water mark of difficulty for the game, so if you can get past this, you can deal with anything.

Make sure to have a plasma pistol and plasma grenades handy. When a door opens, get in that door's face, try to sticky a goldie if there is one, and blast the crap via frags or otherwise out of the little guys.

Try to maintain your presence in the main room for as long as possible; this is expediant and actually kind of easy while you maintain good crowd control. If the Covenant finally start to overwhelm you, take up position in one of the hallways and whittle them down until victory.

But yeah: until you have to retreat, play very aggressively. Also, try to kill all the little guys from a given wave before tackling the next wave. Having angry grunts and jackals behind you is extremely dangerous; when they are feeling confident, their plasma comes fast and very, very painfully.

I was stuck there for a long time but I've successfully completed T&R on solo Legendary twice. My advice: First watch for the first door to open. AR the camo elite before he kills any marines. Use grenades against grunts and jackals. Use needler against Zealots (gold elites). DO NOT STAY IN THE MAIN ROOM. Go in the hallways. Walk towards a door, get just close enough for it to open, throw grenades and shoot, then when shields get low, retreat into the hallways again. Guerrilla tactics. Be careful of the doors in the hallway (not the ones to the main room, but the locked ones that go to other hallways) because sometimes they will open and enemies will come out. If you are being charged by a zealot, run backwards while shooting him with your needler.

There may be better methods but that worked for me twice.

I haven't done the last few levels on solo Legendary yet (currently on The Library, will probably finish within a few days to weeks depending on how much playtime I get in) but of what I've played on solo Legendary so far this is BY FAR the hardest part of the game. Well, this and keeping Keyes alive later in the level. There may be a spot in the last few levels that's harder, I don't remember, but I'd guess there's not. If you can do this, you can probably play any mission of any Halo on solo Legendary. Keep at it.
And when you get to Keyes and have to keep him alive, when you get to the room with 4 camo elites, stay by one of the doors. If you go in the middle Keyes will go with you and get killed by the grunts that come in after you kill the camo elites. If you stay by the door, Keyes will stay there too and it'll be a lot easier to keep him alive.

Add me to your friends list if you haven't already. It's a lot more fun to play with people from The Maw and people I know than random noobs.

Plasma grenades were probably the most helpful to me in situations like this. They are usually all over the place so don't worry about using them sparingly. Just try to stick the elites whenever possible.

if you grab he active camo (there is one behind some crates), you should also get plasma pistol and assault rifle. than u should stand on the wraith because it is hard for people to see you

i would wager by now you have managed to finish the fight and are futher into the level, but if not:

On legendary the side passages that lead out (opposite of the wraith, not on that side) are your best friend. They allow you to funnel the elites to you in more manageable numbers, just be careful of the occassional elite spawn right at your back. I find that any weapon other than the sniper rifle is a good choice during this battle. If you have it, swap it for a needler or PP off of one of your kills in those hallways. Do not drop it out in the room, the grenade explosions alone will usually make it so you cannot find it later and it is a blast to use later in the ship.

Typically only 1 or 2 elites will come out at you before you have a chance to make it into a side passage. They make life alot easier to deal with the 50 or so enemies that you will eventually face. You can use the doors to block enemy fire, and once the elites stop spawning you can crouch just inside the doorways to pick off the remaining covies milling about on the far sides of the room.

I find that if I have either a PP/AR or PP/Needler combo, the hallways are easy to defend against anything that comes my way and ammo reloads are aplenty. Save your frags, there will be a ton of plasmas available throughout the battle to scoop up.

Until you figure out a strategy that works for you (there are several that do work, finding one originally was the -blam!-) this can be one of the most challenging battles in the game.

Good luck!
