As a community, I think it would be great if we had some sort of weekly/fortnightly/monthly events on Halo 2 XBL - be they comprised of friendly customs between a few people, or more serious things. It'd be a great way to keep community relations high. It could also be a possibility to form some sort of league, for those willing to compete. Discuss, and please add ideas!

Sure, I'd be up for it. We could hold these late Friday nights, the only thing I can see stopping us is people not showing up! You can lay out all kinds of plans, but if you don't have participation, you don't get anything accomplished.

So, I guess you can count me in.

I'd definitley participate, however, time differences may be a problem. Other than that I think it's a great idea.

Aye, i'd be up for it, i got sick of live a while back and havent been on it for ages, so this would be an excuse to get back into it.

Kilroy: who says we have to stick to live? we can always use xbox connect or xlink kai, or why even stick to halo 2? Marathon matches :D

It is a great idea, but apparently my connection seems to have serious problems connecting with people over-seas.

I won't be joining you. I don't like the idea of a videogame controlling my schedule. Good idea though.

It's a good idea, but people never come through on things like this. No one ever can work out times and things like that.

Actually, I get those network problems with people living only a mile or two away from me, let alone an ocean or half a planet. Persistence is key. =)

I wasn't planning for anything too serious, unless people wanted a league, just for people to turn up when they feel like it and play a few friendly games.

I agree - there are already Myth games going, but I'm sure the Marathon community would like to get together, and HPC's multiplayer setup makes it ideal for hosting games exclusively for the Bnet community.

Just like how you cannot know the meaning of life....ok, so a little difference in questions...

So Psyched, who did you imagine organising all this? I'm more than willing to set some games up if needs must.

That sounds like a freakin sweet idea. I'd say once a month or something would be best. The timezone thing does seem like an issue though, but this is only in the concept stage, so I dont think it is a big problem yet.

This could be a great thing to get the community even closer than before. Not only that, but I think alot more people could attend this type of event than say a Myth event. Considering more people own Halo 2 then Myth.

If any help is needed on this issue count me in.

Stuff like this usually die down due to lack of interest in a matter of months. If it happens, and if you can pull it off, try not to make it too frequently.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

I think this whole tournament is a great idea, even though I don't have Live and I can't seem to get Marathon multiplayer to work.

good idea

people should be able to view another person's game as its happening so you select the person from your friends list and select veiw game and you would see the game as that person sees it that would be awesome
