When one is sniping, eventually they will get found, and when they are found, they have a very low chance of survival.

when I snipe the same damn thing happens to me. Normally I don't have time to switch to my secondary weapon before the people are all over me blasting away with their AR or shotgun. I need some tips on how to well...fight back with the sniper rifle in close range since I don't have time to switch weapons. Sooo...I need some good stratagies... ... ...besides hauling ass...that never works.

It takes about two seconds to switch your weapon. Here is what you do. Get a kill, move to a new location. Repeat. You have a higher chance of survival. And don't always snipe.

yeah, the look sensitivity is a crucial part to sniping for me, find the setting that best suits you for quick movment and east tracking if the opponent is moving, and practice head shots, you can do that by playing, the truth and reconsiliation on legendary and pracicing on elites

You know, after you get a kill, moving to a new location may increase your chances of survival, but, what are you chances of survival while moving in the open?

if u dont move other snipers will know where u r because of the "smoke trail" left behind from the shots.

Keep to the higher ground, and as one other guy said, "change sniping positions." Sniper bullets leave trails (I'm sure you know this), so They'll find you in seconds or les unless you move. For instance, on Boarding Action, get to level 5 and once you snipe someone, teleport to the other side.

And one other thing - STRAFE!!! Don't watch where you're going once you're heading in that direction; you're destination isn't going anywhere. Instead, keep checking your vulnerabilities.

Exactly. A good sniper is ALWAYS on the move, and is never too far from a vehicle if possible(They are very good to escape in, and even if you don't drive them they provide excellent shelter from counter-sniping.).

What Monk007 said. ALWAYS move. Stay in cover if possible and dark shaded areas often work well too.

Technically, a good 'Halo' Sniper is always on the move, whilst a Real Life Sniper can sit in the same spot, without detection for many hours; the best can have their eye in the scope for days.

Although, with Halo, I get your point of moving and checking out your close range...

Yeah, make sure after every few shots you move in.
* Keep your self safe by always havin a full clip. That way when you get a target you can be sure you have enough rounds to kill him.
* Have a gun you are comfortable with as your secondry. Mine is shougun to protect me in close range attacks.
* Get good at no zoom sniping. This way if someone sneaks up on you, you can get a head shot and save your life.
* Be able to have good aim with grenades. Try to trough frags slightly at the person, and run away. Usally it kills them. (Best in hallway) With plasma try to stick it to the guys chest or helmet. Any Where that it would it would be easy for him to see on screen. When they are panicing, pump a few rounds in to make sure the die. (Best outdoors)
* Get good at rocket judging. If you are gaurding your base, being able to take out enemy vehicles from afar, is best. Try to hit them BEFORE they see you. Esle, it could get ugly, ie. tank blows the -blam- outta you.
* Use cover. If enemies are charging, pretend to run away , instead hide behind somthig and stop moving. Most likely they'll blow past you, making them easy prey.
* Don't stop shooting, until the target is dead (Usally one or two shots).
* Pick prey wisely, try to pick on guys attaking your team. It can save you budd's butt. and allow you to save ammo by shooting people with no sheild. (no sheild= one head shot)
* if being chased by a vehicle, try to run at it, zig zagging with no pattern (try to get close enough to kill driver, or grenade it)I found the level halo best for my close, medium range sniping. You can pick up a SR in the main vally after you cross the light bridge. Next to a esacp pod. Try to only use the sniper rlife and grenades. only using your secondare on extremly close range targets. Also play on hard/ legendary for bigger challenge. This is the route to take for moost effice bullet use.
* The cliff edge base.
* The base near the big hill ( the head of the river)
* The suvivors near rock slide.
The ammo for the second area is on the hill, next to dead marine sniper. THe ammo for the rock slide area is near the eacape pod. Use marines in warthog to cover you back. Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, when sniping offensivly, i.e. slayer, keep yourself moblie and keep close range weapons for use on the move. Try to use a vehicle as bait. It lures people in, and in a jam you can escape in it. When defending, i.e. King of the Hilll, CtF. have long range weapons. Your goal is to make a dead zone around your base(if your are in the base area). A good method of potection on the out door maps is to hide a bit away from the entrance to your base. Then make a no pass line by aming at the opposite walll, essentailly fencing off your base. Kill any person the passes this line( warn yourbuddies and have them tell you when they are coming

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.
