How come halo 2 legendary is impossible. I mean i knoiw it is possible to beat, but with many hours. Halo 1 coop legendary was easy witht the tac tic where one person stays in a safe place when the other guy keeps spawning and pushing forward. On halo2 legendary if one guy dies then it reverts to saved. Ugh its so hard, haven't beaten it once.

Dual weilding really helps me in co op H2 legendary. Send one man into the crowd fighting for his life, oh wait, that's suicide!(maybe in lower difficulties) My brother and I aka Blue Flame and Dog1, often use the tactic of a revolving attack. It takes practice but one of us is charging while the other is sniping or nading the bejesus out of them. Then when the attackers sheild goes down he retreats as the other ones taking his place. The only downside to doing this is it restricts your weapon selection for example you have dual weapons of whatever you have and a scoped weapon for when your not attacking and your partner is. I have found many similarities between both H1 and H2 legendary. This tactic will work with practice.

Playing Legendary by yourself is sometimes easier because if just one of you dies, it's back to the checkpoint, which is frustrating in most cases.

I beat Halo 2 Legendary by myself in a week and a half, doing a level per day. Gravemind was easily the hardest level for me. (I got stuck so many times with no freakin ammo, it was nuts)

Cairo Station, which was TREMENDOUSLY difficult with co-op, took only like 40 mins by myself. God bless that PP/BR combo.

Back to the point, I found Halo 2's legendary to be much more difficult than Halo: CE's. You can take less damage, the enemies can take more, wicked Jackal snipers, and crazy-intelligent AI. Co-op in Halo: CE, Single in Halo 2. Un-freakin-believable.

Well, it took me only 5 days to beat legendary on my own. Two of those days were cairo station alone. I would die about fifty times, give up and try later. But in the end I prevailed. In doing legendary, there were parts that were just impossible for me to get through. So, I actually found lots of semi cheats while playing campaign. Like gravemind, in all those grav lift escalator things. I found way up there, and walked through the whole level, found ways to make the camo last forever by using checkpoints, shutting the xbox off and restarting it, grabbing some of the campaign skulls along the way like grunt birthday skull, and a few others. Also the last level, I brought the banshee inside and beat down the big bad boss with it. So, yesI am not really supposed to do a lot of these things, I did and beat the game. I still suck at it though lol.

Well, the idea is to beat the game on Legendary in a manner which makes you feel as though you have accomplished something great. If you did so by manipulating the parameters of the normal gameplay, and feel good about it, then God bless you.

Because Lord knows I took as many shortcuts as I could afford to do.

Skipped the first battle of Outskirts.
Sword-flew through Uprising.
Got the Scarab Gun and wasted everybody in Metropolis.
Nade jumped through Quarantine Zone.
Banshee-bombed the crap out of Tartarus

God I love this game!

On the contrast, we really only exploited one glitch in Halo: CE's campaign. When you are playing Two Betrayals, and you have to use your shield to overload the three pulse generators, I would do it while my brother would stand right near the loading point. I would activate it, then he would walk throuhg, taking us both away from the impending doom of Flood and Sentinals. The Flood would appear frozen in the hallways behind, completely unable to affect us. We laughed at their pathetic existence. HA HA!

Halo2 on legendary is horrible, I've only ever been able to pass The Arbiter on singleplayer... but on halo:ce I've past almost every level on legendary on single player.

the deal is, h1 legendary was ALOT better, the AI became smarter, and a bit stronger...
in h2, the AI are the same, and the guys kill you with 2-3 shots... NOT FUN

I loved Halo 2's legendary......sounds like you guys just aren't good enough :)

Except Gravemind should die. brutes+elites+grunts+jackals+hunters+drones=no two guns that can do it all

Halo 2 legendary if not that hard. The only thing that prevents me from beating it is the jackal snipers. WTF only modders can snipe like that?

The H1 legendary is a whole lot eaiser than the H2 legendary. In H1 you can just have one person stay in a safe spot and have one whittle the enemy down until they're all dead. the only level that this is a problem is the first level, when you spawn with no weapons. I think that Bungie made the right choice in having both people go back if one person dies in H2
I hate the first level, you get no nades when you spawn. And those snipers!!!!!!!!!!!! walk very slowly around those corners and use the combo, it works so nicely

Umm... I beat all of halo 2 on legendary in like 12 hours by myself... it depends on whether you waste your time to kill everyone or just kill and keep moving. The only part thats harder on halo 2 is the jackal snipers in my opinion. I hate those guys, but I really don't think its as hard as you make it out to be.

I beat gravemind in 2 hours with a carbine and beam rifle... but i like sniping.

  • 11.03.2005 5:44 PM PDT

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

I am stuck at the last level in H2. I can't beat Tartarus without a banshee. I don't want to use one. I have probably spent like an hour and a half just shooting at him.

You can skip most of gravemind where the horizontal lifts are by jumping on top of the level... not mods needed, only jumping not even nade jumping!

The only reason it's so difficult is because the enemies are significantly more powerful than you. Each and every Elite has more powerful shields, more health, and stronger weapons, infinite ammo, no reload times, I've never seen an Elite's plasma rifle overheat, and you have to take them on 3 or 4 at a time. It's just a cheap way of making the game hard to beat - instead of making the enemies outsmart you, they can just outshoot you and outlast you in a firefight. You have to beat them with your smarts (startegy) instead of your skill (aim and fire).

I have beaten every level of Halo 2 on Legendary. And not a single one of them was fun. Just frustrating hide and seek games with Elites getting assassinations while they mindlessly stared at the spot they last saw me.
