2. Also answered. Bungie has no plans to release any more patches. We have to make a case for their interest to be piqued. Aside from continued discussion in this forum, hit the snail mail and kill them with paper cuts. My suggesion? go to your local liquer store and grab an empty Bicardi box. Put your letter in that. If everyone does it, they won't be able to get out the front door and we can starve a patch out of em....lol JK.

I understand where you are coming from on this but we *did* pay $50 for this game which when it was released was pretty bad for MP. We shouldn't have to beg. This whole Gearbox with their hands tied thing stinks. I just don't understand why the CE version wasn't allowed to be part of the update. If that had been allowed more people would have started using it, and maybe Gearbox could have fixed more stuff.

(I haven't played Halo PC in a while for the obvious reasons and it's possible the situation has changed, someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

thats why we need this to happen that way we will be able to come up with a definite plan. if were not unified in this, some people snail mailing and some people walking with picket sign s wont solve anything. there is strength in numbers. if we are going to do something we all need to do the same thing one day then another same thing another day. then and only thewn will bungie turn its ear to us. we need this union. so please anyone that is willing to talk about this LIVE. where we can all come to an agreement please pm me. please. time is running out

Carrot or stick? There ain't no stick we can use against MicroSoft, Bungie, Gearbox, and in my case, MacSoft. They made the game, got our money and are on to other things. We need a carrot. Yeah, I've heard about how some people think we're owed something because some loser made a working aimbot, the netcode stinks, etc.

We need to use a carrot. What can we offer? For one thing, loyalty. We're fanatics or we wouldn't be here complaining. Apple has this kind of loyalty– I'd saw my arm off before switching platforms. MicroSoft isn't used to that in their customers.

The other carrot, more important than the first is $$$$$$$. Let's face it– if you made a product and people had a problem with it several years down the road and you saw the product as a dead end misfit, would you do anything? They figure anyone playing on a PC or Mac is not playing on X-Box. They'd rather have us pony up for an X-box and the monthly fees.

Maybe we can convince them that we'll pay. Pay for fixed netcode, pay for an anti-cheating fix, maybe pay fees for good bungie servers where real TKers get bounced. Non-Bungie servers could still operate for free. That would give Bungie insentive to have the best servers– why pay to play if you can get as good or better for free?

You paid about $50 for the game, played it for a couple of years for hours on end. What would you pay to make this the game you always wanted? I'd pony up another $50. If Halo dies, I'll have to find another game and cough up $50 and it may have it's own problems. I'd rather get this game fixed.

I know the idea of paying more money to a company that you may feel you've been screwed by is not fun, but as the old saying goes," money talks and B.S. walks."

If we are going throught that kinda trouble just to get halo pc fixed, why dont we just tell them that we'll all pitch in $100 for a port of halo 2? it would have all of those issues resolved and on top of it all it would have that nice eyecandy, what you asked for simonjestor is just impractical. but its not like i dont want these issues resolved either, dont get me wrong im as you described "a loyal halo fanatic"

Mr B:

You or I may not consider the game finished. MS,Bungie, Gearbox, et al do. They burned it to disc, put it in a box, shipped it to stores and advertised it. They've been selling it for years. As far as they're concerned, it's finished, perhaps to the point of no longer supporting it.

If I might add to my previous suggestion: If we can't entice the game maker(s) to fix it, would it be possible to get a group together to raise money to hire a programmer to write a patch or at least an aimbot blocker? I suppose that we might have to get access to the source code for some fixes, but maybe not for the aimbot blocker, since I assume they didn't when they wrote the aimbot.

Didn't Bungie put the source code for Marathon in the public domain? So it's possible, right?

Yes, well put Mr. B. That's basically all I've been trying to say, but I usually just get shot down when I say that this forum could be beneficial on resolving issue's with Halo. Over and over again I hear how it does no good complaining on Bungie's forum. The thing that bothers me is this forum could be put to good use. This is all in good intention, but is misunderstood as being aggressive towards the makers of this game.

I have pretty much exhausted all my energy for the cause but still have some interest on helping the issue. What else can we do? Count me in on trying to help.

They have the guns, but we have the numbers. If we can get organized and put pressure on the right sources, we might be successful.

Peace

I'm not even talking about posting stuff here. I said in my post that it's useless and attracts moderative action - because it's so repetitive and they've said they can do nothing. I said contact bungie directly - you don't do that by posting here. We've definately had that fact beat us over the head too many times.

If you all want to do something, you've got to move beyond this forum.

Anything beyond this forum has not helped anything. I and many others have tried through e-mail's. It has not helped. Sexy leg's, you are a veteran of this forum, so maybe you can offer some advice. Do you think this is a dead issue or do you think we should keep trying? I have pretty much given up hope on anything being done about the politic's surrounding Halo.
I just hate seeing a good game like this going down the crapper.

As alway's any advice appreciated.

Peace

I'm certifiable.

Just to be clear; as of this moment exactly one moderator (white type version) works for Bungie... Ninja 0n Fire. (Shishka spent a year as a contract employee, but that's up.) To the best of my knowledge, he has nothing to do with HaloPC/HaloMac.

Frankie, Sketch, and Achronos have administrator privileges (gold type version) and are Bungie employees.

The rest of us are just fans. We don't have any influence or inside knowledge, with Bungie or Gearbox or MacSoft. Asking us about Bungie's business plans or internal workings isn't going to get anything other than what's already been posted.

-- Steve's first Bungie game was HaloPC, so he knows where you're coming from... but he's not the guy to talk to about this. Sorry.

If you read some of the other post's you would have realized that many have moved beyond this forum, several time's, and had no luck. (This explain's the constant rambling about the same issue's.)
But thank's (Spartan012) for confirming the wonderfull advice from the moderator.

Even though Halo PC is a few years old, people still play the game. If people need attention, then give it to 'em! But we can't riot over it. We just need some attention.

But here's an idea: maybe a few Bungie people volunteer to work with the Halo PC group? Just a thought... Just don't ignore the Halo PC group; doing so would open up Pandora's box, so to speak.

Note on Halo 2 for PC: I know you guys at Bungie currently have no plans to make Halo 2 for PC. But if you get the time to make Halo 2 for PC, please do so. It would be greatly appreciated, and countless PC gamers would be in your debt.

That's a great idea. Using the forum's for everybodies benefit.

With so many loose ends dangling from Halo 1, Halo 2 is highly unlikely. But still worth the discussion in my opinion.
