This links to the quote in the first scene...
"Spartans are never dead, they are just missing in action" - This could mean that Jun isn't dead, instead he is just missing in action.
Another piece of this puzzle is the halo 3 legendary ending - SPOILER- SPOILER SPOILER!!!
Master Chief is drifting off in the freighter, and says something along the lines of "Wake me when we get help" or something like that... But it zooms out to show space, and a planet behind it... What is this planet? Well, it shows a very similar outline to the planet from the reach Premier Trailer - When it showed the multiple distress signals!
Then the Dr - She says "I wish you could have seen it" at the end of reach... She saw it, and she was with Jun, otherwise how would she be narrating?
So from what I can gather, Jun is still alive, and Master Chief landed on reach - Which is the freighter in the background at the end of reach (The crashed ship to the right of the helmet, and in the background), and he gets picked up (Which is obvious due to the ship to the far left - Or the base)...
This would be an interesting concept, as Master Chief believed that he was the only one alive, the last spartan - When there was Jun - A member of Noble Team, The best of the best...
Well that would be a fun game if I'm honest, with a good storyline!
