A possible way to improve the forums would be to have a search engine to find posts by name or by person so that instead of saying "I searched the forums and could not find anything" one could just type in a few key words relating to what he/she is looking for and find results from the 1000's of pages. Also if one were to post a thread and the next day not be able to find it and repost it they could just search for it and find if it has been moved, deleted, or just knocked back to another page. This could help reduce the amount of repetitive question threads.

I don't believe a forum search would be a good idea at all. It would make it WAY too easy for people to bump their own threads.

Old threads get locked after about 30-60 days or so of inactivity, I believe. I'm not quite sure how many days it is, so I'd gladly appreciate it if somebody could give a specific number. My memory's a bit rusty.

Well bumping threads might be a problem, I doubt it though. It would keep new, pointless topics from being created.

No. No it wouldn't. 90% of those on these forums wouldn't bother to use a search function to find similar topics. The get on the forum and see the New Topic button and... you get this:

OMGROXXORZ why bungee not tell Halo 3 out?
