Gimpy, don't be an idiot. Comparing the wiimote to the power glove is like comparing sex to dieing.

Actually, blam has a meaning behind it. I like blam better anyways.

Or even better, if you drop an F-Bomb and you say Shut the blam up....substitute blam for f-bomb.
So it'd be like: Shut the F-Bomb up. and S-Bomb...err Sh-Bomb...or whatever.

Uh... blam is Bungie related, why would we want to change it?

  • 11.01.2005 6:13 PM PDT

"I don't know what the -blam!- you were thinking."

See? I could have either said the S-bomb or the F-bomb. Who knows?

I don't think it's a problem, leave it be.

The sad thing about real-life (or RL as I like to call it) is that saying "Shut the blam up!" is recieved by laughter and strange looks.

For example, instead of someone saying,"Shut the -blam!- up!", which you and everyone else knows what the person typed, have it say,"Shut the yarn up! Or, Shut the wheel up! Just some random word that changes each time.

Its still kinda obvious what word is being replaced either way. Its not that big of a concern I find.

Who in their right mind would say,"I don't know what the sh** you were thinking."?

Yeah, you're right. What the crap is Barrrrrrron on about?

I think Barron is way ahead of our time in swears. In the future, many people will be saying "I don't know what the (s-bomb) you were thinking" even in casual conversations.

Dude, that's the stupidest -fortune- idea ever. If your dumb -origin- of a mother knew you came up with it, she'd kick your -security- out the window!!!

I guess it is a good idea

For your information, I used the S-bomb to provoke the -blam!- filter. ;-)

I think you prove my point. For all anyone knows, I could have used any one of the blammable words, not only the most likely one. I just don't see...

*sigh* I can't even begin to go into this, it's giving me a headache. I just think the idea is ridiculous.

Here, I'll attempt to explain things more clearly. What really confuses me is that your proposition doesn't stop people from "figuring things out". If it had said- "I don't know what the -fish- you were thinking." you would come to the same conclusion as if it had been -blam!- instead, there was a bad word said and it was removed.

Now excuse me, I need some Advil. Who knew attempting to explain something so simple could be so damned complex...

Don't fix what isn't broken. The filter is fine as-is.

I like the yarn and wheel idea. I'd love to see "You stupid yarn!" that. Blam just has origins that make people feel "oldskool" for knowing what it means. I will not state my knowledge staus on that topic.

The -blam!- filter has worked fine ever since its creation. Why change something that you know works.

I'd rather see the web team working on new features, like the karma system and search feature. Not wasting time 'fixing' something you know works.
