I believe slip space drives and traveling at light speed can be achieved somewhat within the next 100 years, hey, we've already broken the speed of sound, so its onto the speed of light as our next challenge

Hello! I'm Bunie.net's resident medical student (hell i'm sure there are more but I'm the only one who openly declares it!) I love my emblem, and I am periodically active.
I have a Twitter

Yep, however slip space i believe is out of our reach

hmm, gonna have to agree/disagree with the space folding thing taking the power of a galaxy, sure it would take an enormous, spectacular amount of energy, unless we discovered a simpler way to accomplish it. things always get simpler as you understand them better, look at the efficiency of aircraft as an example, how they are never endingly becoming more aerodynamically efficient, letting them move through the air with less effort, they still work in the exact same way as old school wood and canvas bi-planes, they are just refined.

artificial gravity as well, i personally think its possible, hear me out. all forces have an opposing forces, look at magnetism for example, its so similar to gravity, they are both invisible forces that don't make simple sense, they can both be changed and quantified, magnetism can be created (electromagnets) some of which can be very very small yet very very potent, why can gravity not be the same? i think artificial gravity and anti-gravity will simply come through out ever increasing understanding of how the universe works, as soon as we actually understand how gravity works, i think manipulation/creation will come shortly after.

Personally, I find most things within the Halo Universe to be rather plausible. All of it, pretty much...except for their concept of "slipspace" travel.

I've always considered manipulating the gravitomagnetic effect to "push" the space behind a ship as the most practical method of "fast" space travel.

But, yeah. The rest could happen.

Mreh.

invisibility (or something like it) would theoretically be possible but it would take lots of money and use in the field would be idiotic as it would break easily.

hey, the name's HNIC Matt and uh that's pretty much it, go to my channel on youtube(thetexas2010) for more.

i don't know, but all i care about is not going to war ith an advanced alien civilization

<3 Auntie Dot

We would likely destroy Earth and ourselves with her before we can even go to the Closest Star...

Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

Well if you actually learn and gain knowlegde instead of thinking of it will happen or not then you will know that we will never ever and not even in 10.000 years be able to travel in space and live in space.

Wow... Are you really that retarded? We've been to the moon, we can go beyond.

yeah i agree with that, that is just about the most stupid thing i have read on here. people live and travel in space now, space shuttles are spacecraft by all definition, and they travel through space. people live on the shuttle for couple of weeks and international space station for months at a time, this is for all purposes living in space is it not? the only thing standing in the way of human progression into space is politics, plain and simple, it will always be the thing holding us back as a species, the current leaders lack the will to change things.
