Maybe we PC gamers shouldn't be pleading with Bungie, but rather Gearbox. I don't think Bungie wants to... "waste" there time working on a port. More then likely they'd dump it on Gearbox's lap.
Understandably Bungie would first have to give the nod to Gearbox to undertake such a thing. Maybe all these questions will be answered at E3... which is going on (or about to) right now. So, all we can do is wait and find out. If they don't say boo though... well, we can probably assume a similar scenario like Halo 1... or at least that's how I would look at it.
In response to Spart's post: I can't say for sure that they'll release by your posted time (Sep. 3rd? Where did you hear that by the by?), but from what I've seen from the game so far... well, it could very likely happen, and then again maybe it won't (that was a very definite answer wasn't it?).
There are an infinite possibilities that factor into when a game will be released. More often then not companies will initially release a very... optimistic release date then bump back when needed.
Seeing as this game is going to be a console release first, they might just end up taking an extra length of time to fine tune everything (unlike the PC game market where companies have the unique ability to release a bugged game and then patch the living day lights out of it... when they feel like it...)
Nutshell: Who knows, E3 will likely shed some light on the topic though.
I'm not sure what you mean by "playable cov." Is it a silly abbreviation of some sort?
