I don't this is funny or effective in preventing censored words, it encourages it.

I don't know if I agree with you or not. I think people are always going to try and come up with clever ways to put profanity in their posts. Now, while I am a religious man, I'm not a quaker or something on a quest to abolish profanity, but I think it does make someone's point lose credibility. So if you are saying they should let people say whatever they want, I'd have to disagree with that.

But, if they want something more subtle and less likely to inspire people to intentionally put profanity in their posts, they should change it from replacing it with a "blam" to replacing it with a blank space. Then people whose posts are half "blams" inviting people to imagine what the writer must have meant, would now just look stupid with a bunch of missing words leaving a meaningless jumble of sentence fragments.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

It's an old, sacrid Bungie word. Also, it's short, sweet and to the point. Would you really want posts to have stuff like:

"Shut the <Censored> up! <Censored><Censored>you<Censored>and<Cen sored> <Censored>your<Censored>" ?

Most of the time when people add blams they don't do it to curse but because it is funny or to show excitement. Getting rid of the blam filter because it causes people to curse is like getting rid of the slingshot because Frankie might accidentally shoot himself into the sun.

I am having a hard time taking your poll seriously due to the fact that you used "-blam!-" as a voting option.

-blam!- works just fine, like the saying goes: if its not broken don't fix it.

I am having a hard time taking YOU seriously due to the fact that you used "The Magnum" as a second weapon in Team Hardcore.

The biggest problem you have with the whole censorship blocker on these forums is the fact that many, many....MANY kids younger than....well, younger than 12 get on here and if some of the stuff I have seen on here got across to their parents you might get problems. I think its main use is for those kinds of events...

And if you really feel you need to swear on a forum there are plenty of those everywhere.
