*blushes*
No guys, it isn't bult up from screenshots, it was rendered in 3d studio Max, with a little bit of Photoshop help. The textures on the masterchief are all upgraded from what's in the game. I did the texture upgrade a while back for the Chief's rendering on the ad posters that are out now as well as the cover of the box, and then for this of course I changed the colors and added the battle damage. The background desert is mostly from scratch.
The scorpions and the warthog, while they of course don't have motion blur in Halo2, are pretty much the same geometry and textures [with of course the color changes]. There's a little bit of tweaking on those textures to make sure 3d studio rendered them correctly but they are taken from game data. But sorry, the same vehicles won't have a desert camo paint scheme option in Halo 2.
The Master Chief's pose is actually the same pose [posed by Lorraine McLees] as the cover of the Halo 2 box, just from a different camera angle. Shouts out also to Eric Arroyo who created the game engine models for the Scorpion, Hog, and MasterChief, and Rob McLees who created the SMGs.
But wherever I end up next, I hopefully will still have time to come back and do a few pieces for Bungie, I'd be all for that.
