Ok. My favorite way to play the Covenant:

At loadout, swap to BR and take out those grunts. Pick up a plasma pistol and overcharge the brute, then dispose of him how you like. Take out the shade turrets how you like, but not with the laser. Use one laser shot at the back of the wraith to kill it, and if you please, two more on the chieftain.

Give the fuel rod to a marine and have him ride in your hog or on your mongoose. Get to the next area. Use any remaining laser to take out the wraith and/or prowlers. If you are out of laser, use fuel rod or beam rifle or ghost. You'll probably have to do that part a few times.

Collect the active camo and shotgun on your way into the first tower. Use it to sneak up on the hammer chieftain and assassinate him. This will get you a hammer and a BR. Proceed to air battle, kick ass. Take out as many enemies from the hornet as possible, since it's way easier.

Inside the second tower, if you lure the hunters outside you can kill them using your hornet. Also, you can avoid them, or kill them skillfully. Just pick off drones until they're gone. Head upstairs. Use the plasma pistols to disable brute camo, and utilize sticky/flame grenades, as well as the maulers/needler. To take out the turret chief, use your invincibility. Hold onto the turret for use on the flood.

Proceed to the vehicles, take your pick. I recommend holding onto a fuel rod and whatever else you prefer. I usually still have the hammer at this point. While in the vehicle section, pick up a ghost. You can use it to boost onto one of the scarabs before it stands up, eliminating it almost immediately. If you're lucky you can boost onto the second, or just beat the legs until it's done.

Use fuel rod when needed inside the last section, take it slow.
Fight for your life when the flood turns on you using shotgun, hammer fuel rod, grenades, or anything you can get your hands on. Done.

Here's my strategy for The Covenant:

Turn on both Mythic and Thunderstorm (if you want the Elite allies to be helpful), Catch (because the enemies shoot less), and Tough Luck (because Brutes will always berserk when their shields are removed or when they're stuck).

I recommend turning on only the silver skull Grunt Birthday Party.

I don't recommend Tilt, as it makes the Hunters very difficult to kill.

Mission Start

When you get out of the Pelican, pick up a Bubble Shield. Skip the beach fight and go to the first tower. When you get a checkpoint, save and quit. You should see a Heavy Grunt walking towards a Ghost. Headshot him and get in the Ghost. Boost into the first tower using Tyrant's strategy, but do not pick up the Active Camo. Go inside the tower and go left. Jump on the stacked supply cases and go into the dark room. Headshot the three Grunts that are on the other side, pickup the Power Drain, and activate the elevator.

After you get the checkpoint, throw your Power Drain at the Brute Chieftain. It should remove the Chieftain's Bodyguards shields. Go to the left and pick up a Plasma Pistol. Take out the two Brutes that wield Spikers by sticking them with a spike grenade or by using the noob combo. Then use the Battle Rifle or Carbine to headshot the Bodyguards. Finally, get the Chieftain to perform his standard melee attack, go around him and assassinate. Pick up his invincibility (if he doesn't drop one, press the Xbox Guide button, sign out, and press B to dismiss the guide. Then sign back in and you should be where you last saved and quit). Deactivate the tower's barrier.

Go down. You should see two Marines engaging in combat with a lot of Covies. Go down there and activate the invincibility. Go through the door and stand over the Active Camo. When you pick it up, go to the outside area. A Marine driving a Troop Transport Warthog should get out. Get in it and drive to the area where you took the Grunt's Ghost. You should see a supply case with a fuel rod gun. Pick up the Fuel Rod Gun. Now drive to the Hornets. Give the Fuel Rod Gun to the pilot and get in a Hornet. Now take off to the dogfight.

Rally Point Alpha

Dogfight:

Target the Anti-air Wraith first (using missiles), but be wary of the Banshees and target them if they are about to attack you. Destroy the Banshees in the vicinity. Now go close to the Banshees that retreated, but don't go too close or you will get a checkpoint. Use your machine gun on the Banshees. If they get near you, use your missiles too. Now go forward a little (don't go too close or you'll load a loading point which will make the Banshees and Phantom go to the third tower) and you should see three Banshees. These are the last ones. You can either shoot at them from a distance or just engage them.

Third tower exterior:

Target the Wraith (if it hasn't already fallen into the water) first, then target the War Chieftain. If you destroy the Shades first, the War Chieftain will retreat. Make sure his Fuel Rod Gun falls onto somewhere accessible. Then target the Shade turrets and the Anti-air Wraith on the left. Leave the one on the right alone. Now target the Brutes that were with the War Chieftain and the Brutes that come out of the tower. Once they retreat, fly low and shoot at them. During this boring engagement, make sure you position yourself so that the Anti-air Wraith on the right won't hit you.

Finally, after killing the last Brute, land the Hornet at the entrance of the tower and get out of the Hornet. Find the War Chieftain's fuel rod gun and go to Arbiter. Melee him 3-5 times (5 times if Mythic is turned on), headshot him, and give him the fuel rod gun. Also, if the War Chieftain dropped a Power Drain, pick it up. Now go into the third tower. You will get a loading point. Stick the Brute that comes out with a spike grenade. If you have the Power Drain, throw it into the door to prevent the other Brutes from coming out. Otherwise, use the Plasma Rifle to drain their shields and headshot them. Now after killing them, do not enter the third tower yet. Go outside and use the scenery items (i.e. supply cases) to block the pathway on the right side of the third tower. Then get in your Hornet and destroy the Anti-air Wraith. Once you get a checkpoint, save and quit.

Third Tower shenanigans (only do this if Mythic and Thunderstorm is turned on):

Pick up any weapon (i.e. Spiker), switch to your plasma grenades and stick one of the 3 Elites that came out of the Separatist Phantom. He should take out a Energy Sword. Quickly take the sword and give him the weapon you picked up. Wait for him to change to his plasma rifle and then give him back the sword.

Now pick up another weapon. Stick another Elite. Do the same thing with the third Elite.

Now pick up another weapon and give it to the Marine and take back the Fuel Rod Gun you gave him. Switch to your frag grenades. Go to where Arbiter is and enter the third tower.

Third Tower interior:

After you get the checkpoint, save and quit. Now go to the left corridor and wait for the Drones to assemble. Throw a frag grenade at them. Throw a second one if necessary. A well timed frag grenade will easily disperse the Drones. Now switch to your Fuel Rod Gun and blast the Hunters. When you've killed both of them and got the checkpoint, save and quit.

Third Tower shenanigans Part 2 (only do this if Mythic and Thunderstorm is turned on):

Now head outside and move the scenery blocking the three Elites. Also pick up some more Fuel Rod Gun ammo (there's a supply case with additional fuel rod gun ammo and two plasma grenades on the right side of the tower).

Now return to the tower, but go to Arbiter's position, but jump to avoid getting a checkpoint. Pick up any weapon and go find the two Elites that entered the tower with you. Stick one with a plasma grenade. Take his sword, wait for him to change to his plasma rifle, and give the sword back. Pick up any weapon, stick the Elite that doesn't have a sword, take his sword, wait, then give the sword back.

Now go outside then come back into the tower. You should get a checkpoint. Save and quit.

Third Tower interior Part 2:

This is where the fun starts.

Go to the right corridor and use the Fuel Rod Gun to get you into the room with the Terminal. Jump onto the elevator, but do NOT activate it, and then move down to Arbiter's position.

Look at your motion sensor. When you see red, go through the door. You should see several Brutes walking back to where they came from. Carefully assassinate them, but make sure the dead bodies don't touch the living ones. If a Brute turns around, stick him and run. If you gave your Elites the Energy Sword, let them handle the Brutes.

After killing all the Brutes, you have two choices. Either go towards the elevator and trigger the Drones or use the Fuel Rod Gun to go into the terminal room and activate the elevator.

If you want to get Arbiter to help you, trigger the Drones and kill them (or let Arbiter deal with them). Save and quit when you get the checkpoint. Resume. Melee Arbiter onto the elevator, activate it, and save and quit when you get the checkpoint.

If you don't think you need Arbiter's help, just get on the elevator, activate it, and save and quit when you get the checkpoint.

Third Tower interior Part 3:

Message me for the rest of the strategy.

If you want further help, you can send me a message. If I ever get Halo 3 (I currently don't have the money to get a copy), I'll be making a Legendary strategy guide for The Covenant.
