50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Direct ports are pointless, have you seen the failure of Halo 2 Vista?
Well, if Halo 2 were released a 3rd time, it must have alot more features to accompany it.

Like Online co-op, theater, new gamemodes etc.

They can't do that, or the fan dumb will complain that it has new features or that they even changed one thing or else it will be RUINED FOREVER!

Would I pay to play the best game ever made? what question is that? If it is the same as it was on xbox with those smooth levels I would pay 100$ to play it, even if it was only custom games I would have bought it.

  • 11.08.2010 9:37 AM PDT

Oh gosh! Of course I would pay for this game!! Hell! make people pay for a full 20 bucks, that may make microsoft happy, hopefully..... they should keep all the amazing glitches as well, for the veterans who knew everything so we could just rage on the kids who have only played Reach and think that they are awesome, they dont know nothing about that old school S*** :D

  • 11.08.2010 10:09 AM PDT

The hell with "extra features", the game didnt need them to begin with so why put them in now? Its obvious that people still love this game after so many years. I will never understand why people create great things and then take them away. Even if it came down to money issues, its ignorant to ignore what the consumer wants. People WILL pay for Halo 2, People WILL play Halo 2. It doesnt make any since to not go ahead and do it.

My Youtube - Halo 2 Online Co-op
BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Here's your direct port of Halo 2 for the Xbox 360.

1. Support ATI graphics, because Xbox 1 was based on Nvidia.
2. Support the ATI Tri-core CPU in the Xbox 360.
3. Support HDD install, meaning don't install maps in 2 locations.
4. Support 360 file saving architecture.
5. Support Widescreen and higher resolutions.
6. Recreate and change the game executable from xbe (xbox1), to xex (360) format.
7. Support 360 Integration, which includes online, dashboard etc.
8. remove old and useless/redundant coding, like the Y menu, and other stuff.

The PC version already does most of this, and I was saying it should be an ARCADE game, meaning it is all downloadable to one place, uses all X360 functionality, and of course supports the 360's primarily ATI architecture.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

Its not gonna happen anytime soon. We just gotta deal with playing halo 2 on xbox connect/xlink kai or play halo 2 vista. Currently Microsoft wants to move forward on games, not look back and bring back an old game that may or may not bring them huge profits. Given time, the halo series might be remade/updated in the next generation of gaming in 5-10 years from now.

Games like the original final fantasy games, god of war 1 and 2, or even movies like all 6 star wars movies are being brought back as newer and updated versions. All in order to reap more profits from established series. Given time, the same will happen for Halo CE and Halo 2 on the next generation of gaming or by popular demand.

How about they make it cross-platform with Halo 2 PC?
oh, that's right, you mean people never thought about Halo 2 PC.

It's not the same.

PC version of H2 is irrelevant to all H2 matters.

It's the same. Oh wait, the graphics are better.

And if you are a hardcore fanboy who has a crappy 2001 PC, you can still play on XBC or Xlink Kai.

It's not the same.

I have a quite decent mid-range rig that runs games like Bad Company 2 at 90-120 FPS maxed out. I am by no means a fanboy to Halo, Xbox or PC gaming. I am a PC gamer though, and Halo 2 PC is a POS. The Xbox version is the one it was meant to be played on. It has slightly better graphics on the PC, and only slightly. Even when compared to an 2004 Xbox game. The PC port graphics were several years late to today's standards so I have no idea what your talking about. It can't even be played with a mouse and keyboard without forcing vertical sync, that -blam!-s up your aim.

If they wanted a PC port, they should have done it good, a lot earlier and with thought.

Bottom line:

Your better off letting Halo 2 for Windows Vista die for good and going with XBC or nothing at all. Chances are your just going to get mad when trying to re-live Halo 2 in H2V.

Reach would die lmao

'HD-remastered'
No.

A game identical to Halo 2, with the exception of Xbox LIVE and maybe achievements, but the same graphics and engine? Of course.

I wasn't talking about re-doing the graphics, I meant they should use the old engine and just bump up the resolution.

You were the king, now you're unconscious.

Definitely. I hope this happens

  • 11.14.2010 4:41 PM PDT

I spent 5 bucks on the xbox version (the best 5 bucks I've ever spent), and I would definitely be willing to spend another 10, 15, maybe even 20 to bring Halo 2 back from the dead.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

~Long Live Halo 2
Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Yup.

Guide to immortality : Sleep with Life

I had a pretty big time thread once.

Here's me bragging about it.

I'd pay a full $20 for it. Although I would expect Bungie to eat some of that money I wasted on Reach.

  • 11.17.2010 8:26 PM PDT

I'm pretty sure I would literally sell my soul to play Halo 2 online again. It was by far the funnest game I've ever player online and campaign. I miss it beyond belief...

Halo 2 for Life!

A new map and a expanded campaign would be neat. But H2 was fine as is, dont change gameplay, movement, or it's menu system that was easy and clean (you didn't notice how good it was because it was that easy and simple).
