Yes, if you want to pay a fortune. I don't know where though.

i would assume the pc version runs okay on wine, but you would have to look it up, the mac version is a collectors item and you wont get it under $100

Wow Halo CE for Mac is $100?! That's ridiculous, I was actually thinking about buying the mac version earlier today since I've been wanting to play some good old halo 1 multiplayer online. I guess I'm not going to buy it anymore

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Well everyone in the thread should be able to get it if they manged to pay $1000+ for a overpriced and underpowered laptop.

If you have logic, however, get the #1 program for running PC games on a mac: Windows 7!

No pretty sure they are over priced for the hardware they have. I could get two of my decent gaming laptops for the price of a Mac Book.

And as to why they discontinued making the Mac version, probably the fact that the game is old and at the time when they made the Mac version Macs weren't designed to play games at all.

Edit: BTW for all the people who think Macs aren't PC's, LOOK UP THE DAMN DEFINITION! PC=Personal Computer. And the fact the Macs use Intel Mobo's now.

PC is a sort of brand, and i would definitely take a mac over pc. i dont get viruses, almost no load times, why not get a mac?

And now back to the "why Macs are better" syndrome.
1. you only get viruses if you're an idiot, hence why Apple has a genius bar because most of the people who buy their products couldn't bother to try to fix it themselves, lazy or idiotic your choice. (Also Macs don't have viruses made for them yet because most of the worlds businesses use Windows based computers. If you were a hacker would you want to go with a OS that is used by 80% or 20% of the worlds population when making a virus?)

2.Load times? My laptop boots up in 7 seconds from a cold start, 3 seconds if it was hibernated.

3.And guess what I saved over $700 buying a laptop with Windows on it instead of a Macbook and I can actually play games like H2V even though it's not that great. (acutally I have a Linux destro on it too).

Point is each type of OS has a niche that it works with. Just most people with Macs have a bigger ego.

to get back to the topic, is there a place to download it for mac? because mac>pc

mac>pc

Ego point. Anyway there is no legal way to download Halo:CE for Windows or Mac online. When M$ releases the new GFWL client they may allow for downloads of Halo:CE there, but GWFL obviously doesn't work Apple OS's.

Welcome to the world of the Plastic Beach!

in one of the other forums, someone thought you could play the pc version on a mac as long as you downloaded windows 7 or vista or whatever operating system is required.

  • 11.05.2010 1:01 PM PDT

You can play Halo PC on any Windows OS from Windows 98 and on. You can either try running it in Wine or bootcamp.

If you want to test it before you buy I'd recommend trying the Halo PC demo first.

Welcome to the world of the Plastic Beach!

where do you get wine or bootcamp? is it a download? and where is a pc demo?

  • 11.05.2010 1:07 PM PDT

I can give you the demo download (the official M$ site has been taken down, but the demo still works.
Demo Provided by Cnet

As for Wine and Bootcamp, they should be downloads available online. Bootcamp should be given to you by Apple (probably their site) and Wine I think is third-party software. Google is your friend.

Welcome to the world of the Plastic Beach!

if it works, ill get halo 2 and 1

  • 11.05.2010 1:21 PM PDT

If you get any I'd suggest only Halo:CE because H2V has many problems and I'm not sure how well it would work on a Mac (depending on how new your Mac is)

Welcome to the world of the Plastic Beach!
