(hope i didn't accedentaly post this twice)

Now I love every thing you have done with halo2 and would be happy to get a copy as it is right now BUT I was thinking about adding some multiplayer options:

More characters: this would let you be all of the covenant and all of the human forces each race/type of soldier would have benefits and draw backs (I know I know just listen)

Covenant:

Grunt:
Benefits:
· Smaller and harder to hit
· Can drive all vehicles
· Respawn time is 50% less then the MCs
· Can use all weapons (only weapons that a grunt can use in campaign)
Drawbacks:
· No over shield
· Low health
· No melee attack


Jackal:
Benefits:
· Shield (would be used by pressing the throw grenade button)
· Respawn time is 30% then the MCs
· Can use all weapons (only weapons that a jackal can use in campaign)
Drawbacks:
· Can’t drive vehicles (unless it can in halo2!)
· Low health
· No melee attack
· No over shield (not that it needs one)

Brute:
Benefits:
· Can drive all vehicles (?)
· Can use all weapons (only weapons that a brute can use in campaign)
· Respawn time 10% less than MCs
· Melee attack
Drawbacks:
· No over shield
· Low health (?)

Hunter:
Benefits:
· Impenetrable shield (used like jackals)
· High health
· Powerful weapon
· High health
Drawbacks:
· 10% more respawn time then MCs
· Cant drive vehicles
· Cant use other weapons

Elite:
Benefits:
· Same as MCs (which I think we all know)
Drawbacks:
· Same as MCs (who doesn’t really have any)


Humans:
GI (marines, soldiers that stuff. Your basic infantry):
Benefits:
· 30% lower spawn time than MCs
· Can drive all vehicles
· Can use all weapons
· Melee attack (?)
Drawbacks:
· Low health


ODTS:
Benefits:
· Can drive all vehicles (?)
· Can use all weapons (?)
· Respawn time 10% less than MCs
· Melee attack (?)
Drawbacks:
· No over shield
· Low health (?)


Master chief:
Benefits:
· I don’t think I need to describe these
Drawbacks:
· I don’t think I need to describe these


And of course the FLOOD!! (I am assuming there in halo2 since there is more than one halo ring and possibly new types so I will just do the ones I know from halo)

Flood infectors:
Benefits:
· 90% faster respawn time than MCs
· 4 NPC flood infection ghost your moves (and if your flood dies you get to use one of the others)
Drawbacks:
· VARY low health
· Easy to kill
· Cant use vehicles
· Cant use weapons
· No over shield


Flood carriers:
Benefits:
· 70% faster respawn time than MCs
· A mobile bomb that when explodes drops (is it 3 or 4) flood which you become
Drawbacks:
· Low health
· Easy to kill
· Cant use vehicles
· Cant use weapons
· No over shield

Flood warriors:
Benefits:
· High health
· Can melee
· Can use all weapons
· Can use all vehicles
· Makes lighter weapons ineffective
Drawbacks:
· Arms can get blown off


Just imagine a 3 way CTF with a flood team a human team and a covey team!

Or imagine 3 grunts 3 jackals and 2 brutes dropping on an enemy base from a phantom sending the jackals in first and right behind them a maelstrom of grunts and brutes…it would be amazing.

Or more swarm like 4 guys playing flood infectors could make 20 enemies!!
Other than that just make sure to put in EVERY VEHICLE in multi player including phantoms, pelicans, shadows, warthogs, ghosts, transport buses, ATVs, banshees and what ever else you got…

Halos multiplayer is good beacuse it is so simple and BALANCED. Who would want to be a Grunt deep down in your hearts? If their were new charecters for Mulitplayer they would be just skins. No advantages/diadvantages, hud stays the same etc. So if a grunt was on multiplayer it wiuld have shields.

I think this idea needs some changes. The goal in many gametypes is to score kills, which could be a problem since some character types is easier to kill than others.
Maybe you could have these units as bots, but you don't get points by killing them

that would be awsome. i mean, sure you wouldnt be a grunt in deathmatch....unless everybody else was one... or just do like all grunts vs. one hunter. just a barage on the hunter player until you kill him. whoever last longest through cycling player wins.

there would be tons of new game modes that could be thrown in with this feature he states.

imagine CTF, covanant vs. humans. some jackals and elliets go for the flag, while some hunters guard their flag, as a few marines and master chief go out for the flag. it wiould be like a real battle tactic thing goin on. of course, unless you had the LANness then would only be really put to the limits on xbox live.

Your idea is good but it could use some fine tuning. Clearly this would never work in slayer because of the difficulty to balance them all...

however, i for one would like to see the grunt as a really fast runner for stealin flags. and what if you got good with the little guy? you would be pwning all over x-box live.

I would die happy to hear my friends yelling about how theirs a grunt on top of their base. dual wielding plasma pistols.

No but seriously though, i've seen several posts like your before, i understand you could go into greater detail, but due to lack of knowledge time and patience you probably just don't want to. I for one am open to as many ideas as they can cram into halo 2, tons of new stuff will be overwhelming at first. but i think we will all be happy when halo 2's replay value lasts for years and years with tons of gamettypes and such.

ok well i will work on some fine tuning and a little more detale.

now dont you think its a little stupid to discard this idea simply cause SOME charictures would not work in games like slayer. and im sure some of you would want to use a hunter in slayer...not to mention its an option its not like you have to be a grunt or somthing. i think it would be great it would add diversity

I'm not so sure about the whole different character idea you have. it would take alot of development and alot of balacing out. however one of your ideas is one that i have thought over alot. that is the three way ctf. or a three way team anything. with the expanded multi-player (as i understand it) i wouldn't think it would be two difficult to impliment. may require a few speicial maps but that is about it i think. i just think would would add an entirely new element to the games and make them alot more challanging and fun at the same time.

I see quite a lot of merit in the idea to be different guys. Heck, I've always wanted to be able to play as a Jackal. I think they'd have to be complex things though. Like six Jackals dogpiling a Hunter, or a team of six marines led by two ODSTs attacking a Covenant stronghold of four grunts, two jackals, a brute, and an elite. You know, stuff like that. Not the normal CTF or Slayer busines (though the second may work as a one-way CTF, like Humans need to score so many captures in ten minutes).

No, I only want Mc, Elites, brutes and Odsts. I mean. Everybodys gotta have technically the same power and strenght. The grunt wouldn't stand a chance.

I voted great idea. Just because I like the way you think! : ) You are trying to find ways to make the game even more kick ass, without it being the same old Halo. It would be cool to try out these ideas. Who knows, they could end up sucking, but it's better to try and to fail, than to not try at all.

This is a very cool idea, although for the sake of balance, some characters wold have to outlawed during games. Say that you are playing Flood vs. Covenant. Well, the Flood doesn't really have anything that can stack up to a hunter or a brute, so those two would have to be unavailable.

Other than that though, cool idea.

welp now that im back i will work on some more detailed benefits and drawbacks

i dono those flood warriors can survive a grenade which is what the hunters weapon is. not to mention if you control 4 other flood infecters they can realy hurt a hunter (i have seen it in halo)

+ it would be an option the moderater of a halo game could select the charictures that would be allowed.

Description:
With smaller size and the ability to use all weapons and vehicles with a lowered respawn time it can be a great character to use during CTF matches were kills don’t count. However its low health would make them a bad choice for a slayer match. There stubby legs allow them little sound wile running offering better stealth when combined with a cloak power up.
Special abilities:
· Taunts (just for fun, to use press black tell your grenade menu shows a speaker the hit the left trigger to taunt an enemy)


Jackal:
Benefits:
· Shield (would be used by pressing the throw grenade button)
· Respawn time is 30% then the MCs
· Can use all weapons (only weapons that a jackal can use in campaign)
Drawbacks:
· Can’t drive vehicles (unless it can in halo2!)
· Low health
· No melee attack
· No over shield (not that it needs one)
· Cant use grenades
Description:
The jackal makes for great defense and forward assault troops with its energy shield it can block oncoming projectiles and absorb energy to limited capacity, this makes for an invaluable defender and shock troop by being able to block entrances or provide cover for other troops. However it cant use grenades (unless it can in halo2)
Special abilitys:
· Shield (to use press the left trigger to bring your shield in front of your body, can fire wile shielded_



Brute:
Benefits:
· Can drive all vehicles (?)
· Can use all weapons (only weapons that a brute can use in campaign)
· Respawn time 10% less than MCs
· Melee attack
Drawbacks:
· No over shield
· Low health (?)
Description: considering I know vary little about brutes I can’t say much
Special abilities:
· Dose it have any?



Hunter:
Benefits:

Description: with its heavy armor and impenetrable shield this is a hard foe to take out it also carrys a powerful fuel rod gun that can shoot devastating explosives at long ranges.
Special abilities:
· Shield (to use press the left trigger to allow blocking of the body, can fire wile shielded)
· Shield charge (hit the black button to change to second mode then press the left trigger to perform a made charge and whack at any enemies within range)
· Neck stretch (hit the black button until in third mode then press the left trigger to allow you to use the hunters long neck to look around)



Elite:
Benefits:
· Same as MCs (which I think we all know)
Drawbacks:
· Same as MCs (who doesn’t really have any)
Description: similar to the master chief in many ways.
Special abilities:
· None




Humans:

· Once an enemy is killed the flood infect him and become flood warriors.
Drawbacks:
· very, very low health

Description: five vicious flood infectors who can be used in sneak attacks and reconnaissance. There attack is basically leaping onto their enemy and chewing on them tell there dead
Special abilities:
· Wall climbing (to wall climb simply run into it)
· Infecting

Description: although it is a suicidal unit when it dies you assume 3 or 4 of the flood infectors it drops.

· Detonate (press the right trigger and make it go BOOM)

· Makes lighter weapons ineffective
Drawbacks:
· Arms can get blown off
Description: these warriors are extremely hard to get rid of vary little can take them out in one hit they just get right back up however during the time they’re down you can blow off they’re arms.
Special abilities:
· High jump (simply jump, this can be combined with a swing of your whip arm for high damage)



This just came to mind: the moderator of an xbox live game would be able to switch on and off which characters are allowed in his/her game (similar to the vehicle settings in halo)

I dont think that all those characters need to be included. i think that just the MC and Elites would be enough on their own they are both balanced. their would be no differences between them. all the orig. game modes would still apply but instead you cound play spartan vs. Elite as opposed to red vs blue spartans. just to give the opposing teams more individuality.

im having a lot of troble grasping why somthing like i proposed shouldn't be put in the game as an 'option' i personaly think the more options the better.
