Subject: Do you think they are even considering bring back H2?

I know there have been MANY threads saying that H2 should be brought back to the arcade or receive a graphical update etc. My question for discussion is do you think they are even considering it? Does anyone have any proof of this being worked on? Would Bungie be involved if there was a "graphic update" or would it all take place on Microsoft's side?

Discuss....

BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Microsoft failed and sabotaged Halo 2 PC, which was the last remake of Halo 2.

What makes you think they will make and fail another?

by keeping it on a console it would be more of a direct port if there was an update. It wouldnt be changing platforms as in the case of halo 2 vista.

I actually wrote a message to Sketch about it today, hoping he'll answer. I'll make a thread if I get an interesting answer.

They'll need to make it do several things before it'll be a direct port.

1. Support ATI graphics, because Xbox 1 was based on Nvidia.
2. Support the ATI Tri-core CPU in the Xbox 360.
3. Support HDD install, meaning don't install maps in 2 locations.
4. Support 360 file saving architecture.
5. Support Widescreen and higher resolutions.
6. Recreate and change the game executable from xbe (xbox1), to xex (360) format.
7. Support 360 Integration, which includes online, dashboard etc.
8. remove old and useless coding, like the Y menu, and other stuff.

Optional and not direct port features

1. Fix the havok physics implementation.

2. Cross-platform with PC. Microsoft planned Halo 2 PC to be cross-platform with Halo 2 Xbox, why not finish the job.

R.I.P. Halo 2
11/9/04 - 4/15/10

I don't think they've even considered it.

And if they do, it will be on a completely different engine and will kill the entire feeling of the game. And even if they do bring it back on the same engine, they will probably not have matchmaking like H2V, so it will suck.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

They"ll probably consider a next gen remake in a few years. Most popular games from the past get remade a lot, just like old movies and tv series "like the 3d Star Wars Movies, Battlestar Galactica, etc".

But the question is will we have the patience to wait for them to bring back Halo 2 in some form or another. Even if they did bring it back, what will be different from the original version? What improvements can be made to a game we all love without losing what made halo 2 unique and important to us.

You said a lot, for just 3 sentences. When there is a remake, it's those improvements that worry me.

Honestly, I could care less if a remake had forge, theatre, an armory or any of that garbage. Halo 2 didnt need gimmicks to compensate for the lack of gameplay. Give me the same game, improved netcode, and enforcement to keep modders away and Im happy. I dont even care if the graphics are improved.

I really hope they do bring back Halo 2 and Halo 1. Those were the best games i ever played in my childhood. after seeing how Reach, ODST, and Wars fell for being terrible. all i have to say is What are you doing Bungie!?!? i suggest bringing it back and not making much updates and ruining the game.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

No one played h2 at the end, and the buggy matchmaking system helped make it look even deader.

The buggy matchmaking is something that can be fixed and of course the population had dwindled.... it was a last generation came competing with next gen games. Did you not play during its last week? There were plenty of players online and Im sure if it was returned there would be a strong revival of players.
