I think either a prelude is a slightly better idea then a Halo3 game, because people would be say "Whens halo3 coming out," and "Oh I realy liked ahlo2, is there a halo3?" So if you make a prelude you will catch the consumers eye much more quicky and keep it longer if it's something they didn't expect. i.e Halo:Fall of Reach video game. It's kinda like Star Wars, you know how big that is, the thing that made it cool is that George Lucas(Director/Wirter/Producer of Star Wars) went back and told the rest od his story and tied up all the loose strings that the origial Star Wars created. Going back and telling us about Dr. whats-her-name and about how the ended up going to halo in the fisrt place would definitly sell big.
But a halo3 could also be just as big. The final destruction of the convant(or a peace treaty, whatever might happen) and a final rest between the two superpowers, Peace and exploration could now be key intrests again, and the human race will be free of oppresion.
I think the Bungie might go either way with the situation, and still make it big. Maybe they should save the universe first in halo3, then go back and tell the rest of the stuff we didn't know. Either way, i'll still buy it because we all know, Bungie makes kick ass games.
