Should the Xbox 2 be backwards compatible?

Meaning classic games such as Halo and soon to be Halo 2 and Fable, will be able to be played on Xbox 2.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Vote and tell me what you think. : )

Given the clues from industry advertisements that ask for "multi-threaded programming skills" when talking about next generation products, it's pretty obvious that the rumours about the spec are quite close to the truth, and that means the machine is going to be very powerful.

But I don't know about backwards compatibility. It's perfectly possible to emulate x86 code in a Power environment, but legal crap could get in the way of backwards compatibility. That said, it would be cool if they could get it in there, as it would be annoying to have to switch boxes back and forth all the time to play Xbox 1 and Xbox 2 games.

i will be very upset if it isn't backwards compatiable. i don't want to have 2 xboxs cluttering up my living room (well actually I wouldn't mind but my wife would). :-)
