It's only a few hours away! The 6th year mark of the Halo 2 release! Sadly enough it is only online through memories... (and pc - but ehh not the same feeling right?)

Lets celebrate this thread with memories of our funny stories, fails, and recaps of our Halo 2 memories while we countdown the hours until the date that will remain in Halo history!

No matter if it was split screen, online, or on other accounts (such as myself) lets hear it!

Don't let this thread die come on guys! :)

Yes, I play it on XBC, but it is not the same feeling. The Halo 2 rankingsystem was the best ever on a halo game and the gameplay is way better than the other halo's. They should make it as an arcadegame so we can play it online on the 360 network, that will seriously change my life.

Hard for me to say this but Halo 2 was something that defined me as a person for nearly 3 years straight. I was fortunate to play it back in sophomore year of high school, when there was almost no responsibility and afternoons could be spent on xbox live with friends forming strategies and trying to rank up in all the different playlists.

I only owned 2 games on the original xbox: Madden 04 which came with it and Halo 2. That's all I needed. This game revolutionized online gaming for the console. Thats the only reason I came on this thread, to see if this game was remembered by other players even 6 years after its release. Thats how important this game was to this community.

Reach is nothing like the halo franchise. I don't have the drive to play halo anymore. It just doesn't seem fun. Whenever I think back to Halo 2 days, it kind of makes me regret growing up. Halo 2 for me was more than a hobby, it was sort of a lifestyle for me during my youth, back when there wasn't really a care in the world, and the only thing that mattered was out Br'ing your friends at lans. I always get nostalgic playing halo 3 and reach, thinking about what it could have been, and how dissapointing it was in comparsion to halo 2.

Long live Halo 2

On a related note, ******'s mom has really nice boobs, and it doesn't take much booze or encouragement to get her to let the puppies out of the pen...if you know what I mean...

I never got to play live on halo 2 :'(

I'll play the PC version to pay tribute to it.

Well, Halo 2 IS indeed amazing. Best game ever made - in my opinion of course.

I remember a 1 Flag game on Headlong in Matchmaking. 4 versus 4. We were playing normally until the very last round, where it went into sudden death. The thing is, Halo 2's sudden death lasts forever until nobody is near the flag. So this guy who got the flag hid. Everyone on our team was searching the entire map - we had already won, but we had to play a bit of hide and seek to get our win! It was actually not really annoying, it was awesome. Everyone was superjumping around the whole map, exploring the buildings, looking around for him. I think we searched 30-60 minutes before the flag carrier returned to the flag spawn where we finally found him. It was awesome :D Would be a nice addition to CTF etc.!

I don't have much time, but I'll certainly add some more stories later! Keep this alive, this is an awesome collection of awesome!

I never even knew what online multiplayer was or what it was about. A friend of mine brought over his xbox and we played halo 2 online and I was hooked ever since. It was what encouraged me to get xbox live. Two years of my highschool life I spent playing halo 2. Whenever I was stressed or had a lot on my mind I would just get lost in team hardcore. It was so balanced and required so much skill and on reach I often say, "Even when I played against little kids in halo 2 they had more honor then these reach fans who camp with shotguns, rockets, etc." Halo 2 was what got me started on the online hype and it will never be forgotten to me. The last time I played it was early this year, I friend requested everyone I met and send them all invited and we played a custom game FFA on midship for a few hours.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Unless you play the PC port or use XBC/kai, then nope.avi.
