And remember, if Halo has too much gore, it will be considered -blam!- in Canada. I'm dead serious.

Nope. Canada will still have the game as is. Maybe a PAL version would be sensored, but not in Canada. Ninja Gaiden for example, preaty violent game that was sensored for the european version but in Canada, we got the same version as you guys, in fact, I'd have to say that in many instances, the US has stricter sensorship laws than Canada...

No, Soldier of Fortune is, I think.

Nope. We have the same game ratings as you do.

It would be cool if when you shoot a grunt in its breathing apperatus, the grunt starts wheezing and suffocates. That would be cool. Also i like the idea about the bullet marking thing.

Also, Can anybody tell me something; has bungie bought the engine off Red Faction? (The one that lets you blow through walls and stuff? because i read it in a mag. Thanks

If they did they aren't using it for Halo 2, they created their own engine for that. As for gore, don't really care. Ninja Gaiden needed it, it was part of the games' character; you know ninjas without blood just doesn't seem right; but Halo wasn't a game that needed it. It would be a welcome addition to Halo 2 for me but if they kept the gore down I wouldn't really care, it doesn't add to the game in any major way, besides, at least parents getting their kids a M rated game can rest assured that it's a very light rating. Really, I don't know why Halo was rated mature, I thought it was more a low teen rating....blah,blah,blah

i grew up laughing at blood and guts, and i think it has a place in certain games/movies. but not this one. part of what makes halo so good is its seriousness. to have people getting decapitated or dismembered would be too...silly. i would prefer a form of "battle damage," like what's being implemented with the vehicles. if you get shot with your shields down, there could be bullet holes in your armor, or scorching from fire/plasma. if you get meleed in the face, maybe your visor could crack and your view would show the crack also. something more along those lines. blood and guts is usually found in games lacking real substance. HALO didn't have it. HALO didn't need it. neither should HALO2.

If you could blow a hole in the Chiefs helmet with a sniper round, then you would be able to see his face! Bungie said that you will never see his face in Halo 2, the same as Halo. But it would be cool if in MP you could shoot a guys arm off, then he wouldnt be able to dual-weild or throw a nade. His arm would re-spawn after he dies though.

Hell yes! This would be awesome! To top off the "field amputations," blood should spatter on your visor in campaign mode. For example, if you fire into a Flood at point blank with a shottie, your visor will be splattered with gooey Flood blood. The chief could wipe it off with his left hand after he's done fragging. Not enough to mess you up, just enough to look awesome. Also, blood should stick on player and view models. What this means is, if you shot an Elite in the face at close range with a sniper rifle, you'd see the individual particles of brain matter sticking to your gun, and if you were playing co-op the other allies would see alien blood all over your armor.

However, I don't think they should do anything over-the-top - I only want realism, not some retarded gorefest that makes no sense. Now you may think that what I have suggested is over-the-top, but conditions really are that bad in real life. Remember the first episode of Band of Brothers? They had to crawl through animal guts while being fired at to temper themselves so they wouldn't lose it or puke in action.

Ragdoll physics would compliment this quite well. Unfortunately, I think adding all these things to Halo 2 would reduce the framerate to about 2fps. We've stepped into the "PC gamers only" territory. Meh, I'm getting a new PC anyways. :p

I really don't think Halo 2 would be fun if sometimes you had to swim in blood, because thats the way you guys are talking! it just won't be fun if they add huge puddles, because you're not playing Halo 2 just to see blood are you?(ok, ok, stupid question) i don't think decapitations and limb removal would be fun, because what if you're facing 20 guys? The limb removal would get old anyway, because you'd eventualy see enough limbs blown off, and you would just get mad at bungie for not making ORGANS and BONES and muscle tissue go flying away, and why do we want lakes of gore anyway?it's not like we're all gonna miss out on somthing if theres not a fresh blood coating on everything from the earths core to Mars

maybe the armour holds it all in?

The only problem with limbs flying off is what if you lose both arms and are running around like a retard, would capture the flag be so easy if you could just shoot the arms off your opponents or would shooting arms off kill him, because that would be -blam!-...the idea is good but there seems to be a lot of issues.

No, you'd keep all your body parts, but bulletholes and blood would appear all over you if you got messed up. It's an aesthetic thing for when you die. Same for campaign mode.

I thought this did encompass all those little muscle fibers and bone particles flying out? Cause if it's just a disemembering system, that seems retarded.

Please, no dismemberments. I agree with that other guy: CTF wouldn't work well with a bunch of MC's that don't have arms. I like what Bungie is doing with the scrapes and stuff on the Chief's armor, but I don't want this game to be like Soldier of Fortune. It would turn it into a cartoon.

(Can anyone imagine Halo in anime?)

(Hold on a second I have to puke after just thinking that)

Yeah the sensorship rules are stricter in the U.S. In Canada they don't censor or blur out when some gives the finger or says "S h i t" or "B i t c h" or something like that.

Some gore I would like to see in Halo 2 is when the Marines get shot at by the Plasma Turret the get sliced up like in the books, and also when a grenade blows up directly on someone or near them there would be a more "realistic" death (i.e. more blood and body destruction).

And for anyone wondering I had to space out the swear words because this forum wont let you say stuff like that.
