I am thinking about getting Halo PC so I can play with my friends online, but I've gotten mixed opinions about the game. Is it worth getting, or should I just wait for Halo 2 to play online.

I'd get it. I'm no doubt going to. When halo2 comes out, sure you'll play that on live a lot but you'll miss halo1 and you'll think I could play halo on the net through the xbox but then I can't ride my Banshees or play in those new maps OR play with the 2 different weapons OR drive around in a rocket hog. I think the we know what you should do.

Just wait, dude. Halo PC is a major pain in the ass.

The new vehicles and weapons aren't that good, and the competition sucks bigtime. Halo Xbox pros would own Halo PC pros any day of the week.

I have both versions, and I play Halo Xbox almost every evening over XBC. It's 100 times better than Halo PC.

If you have an extremely fast computer with a good graphics card go for PC. I don't like PC cause I suck with the keyboard for FPS. I personally think the XBOX version of Halo is much better though.

i think the X-Box is the best choice, coz when ur playing split screen/system link it wont slow down and u can have a joke with ya m8s. but halo on pc does have more levels and vehicals (i think) but it WILL get slow.

me i think that you should wait for halo 2 to come out because it will be on xbox live so then you can play with your friends trust me it will be worth the wait.

think of this- do you want new maps, guns and vehicles? yes. do you want to play online with less LAG? yes.

seems simple to me.

ok, I have both versions and I can tell you. Halo xbox is better, I think we all know that, but it got boring, and I am sure it has gotten boring for you. To play halo and not get bored, play halo pc, 16 player matches in seconds, new weapons, maps and best of all banshee, but don't get it unless you have a 5600 or better (graphics card)

If you have a high speed connection, just get XBC. You can play a lot of people online and if you are lucky, you can find a host near you and get little lag.

I have both. Got my Xbox for the sole reason of playing Halo. Then I got the PC version in order to play online. I like Xbox controller much better; but many of the PCers do that platform because they like the keyboard better. With a GOOD video card (check the sticky in the Maw to find out what this means), a decent computer and a high-speed connection, you can have an excellent online experience. If you are just doing campaign, stick with Xbox: you aren't missing out on anything.

Well, I don't know if that last part is true, since I haven't played Xbox Connect; but I highly suspect that the competition on PC online is much tougher than the Xbox fanboys want to give credit for. I know that I get my butt kicked most of the time on PC MP; and that isn't even CE (free download), which I have heard is a significantly more competitive crowd.

You probably killed me ~grin~ I've done a lot of dying in Banshees. And a pro I am not (probably much closer to something that rhymes with "tube.")

Hey, what's this "free" stuff? I thought you had to sign up for Xbox Live (or "Connect" or whatever) for $17/month. If you know how someone with a high-speed line can connect up with a well populated forum of online Xbox gamers for free, please let me know. Thanks!

Sorry to disappoint you, but X-Box is much harder online than PC. I can play on XBC for an hour then get onto PC and own everybody. XBC lets you get used to the lag and when you learn to deal with it there, you can handle it much easier on PC. There was a time when my friend and I were playing XBC and get beaten 50 -23 against ONE guy. (MC-Shake) He just tore us apart.Granted like, you said, CE has more maps and weapons. But if you wish to enter local tournies, then I would reccomend XBC over PC any time.
