Okay, I was getting some spaghetti and putting on the sauce. The sauce was still bubbling on the burner and I missed my plate and threw the sauce all over my left wrist. It hurts and is swelling up and is red and stuff.

Is there anything I can do to prevent a blister?

Run it under cold water, but I don't think you can prevent a blister.

Cut off your wrist.

  • 08.17.2004 11:03 AM PDT

I did the same thing a week ago with hot water. It burned like acid for like an hour- there was nothing I could to. I tried cold water and it seemed to get worse.

Sorry, can't help you. :(

You don't know me well. I get grossed out thinking about anything on the human body popping.

Yeah I can help you since I'm trained in First Aid (Ironic I know).

Keep running it under cold water for 10-15 minutes. DO NOT APPLY ICE. Wrap it in a bandage, and you can even apply some burn ointment (neo-sporin works as well). Unfortunately, blistering is all in how your body reacts to it. Don't worry though, the blister goes away in a week or so.

If it's that bad just wear an armband or something like it to cover the blister up. ;-)

Do not use this stuff.....
It'll only make it burn worse.

stick the rest of your arm in an open flame. than no one will notice the blister on your wrist.

Just pop the damned thing!

  • 08.17.2004 11:24 AM PDT

Or you could say that you broke your arm, and wear a cast for a week so the blister couldn't be seen.

Ya, put it in a cast that will work. I point out that it's Sarcasm for those who can't think. What if she needs that arm for writing and stuff?

Sheesh.

Water is NOT a proper burn treatment.

Get yourself some Aloe Vera. Apply it to the burn (gently). Do this whenever the burn starts to bother you. Not only will the aloe vera sooth the burn, but it'll speed the healing process and it should help you avoid blistering.

It was my left wrist, I write with my right arm. So that's all good.

I don't like aloe vera, so I used vanilla instead. Man, now my wrist smells good.

I still say it would be easiest to just cut off your wrist.
